I know what you guys are thinking, great another will it fit thread. I've honestly scoured and searched and have come up blank. I've used size calculators and measured time and time again but cannot concretely answer this question.

Will the 17x9 Ray 10's rub on a 2nd gen with no lift? Tires are 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks.

Currently running duratracs on my stock wheels, so +30 offset.

Thanks gentlemen, any advice, insight or "not another one of these threads" comments welcome.

This is what I see from using a different fitment site than the one here at TW: Now, the Ray's come with -38 offset (per the website), so the Rays will be a little further in on their new face-almost 1/2 inch, and the outside face will be about an inch further out. I say they will fit. Will they rub???? Maybe. But as near as I can tell without putting a pair on a truck, the rims should work and that tire size should fit, Here is the fitament sit for you. Cheers

If you go to the Buy/Sell/Trade forum for 2nd gens you can look at the SCS Rays 10 for sale thread and maybe find the info you are looking for. There's definitely some good pics to look at and some of those guys who have them might be able to help.

Hey OP, for what this information is worth i have the Ray 10’s with BFG KO2’s in a 285/70/17. I do get some minor rubbing when turning the wheel all the way, turning into an uphill drive, and turning while reversing etc. it’s not terrible (been running it like this for about 6 months) but i am planning to fix mine with the TRD Baja lift kit. If you need any more pics or have any questions just let me know!

So sexy, my truck is black as well, are those brushed copper or the bronze?

I've read through that thread so many times searching. Specifically looking for the 17x9 wheels with the -38 Offset and 3.5" backspacing. Its much more aggressive. Lots of 3rd gen guys run them so far. I think @ChadsPride is the only 2nd gen I've seen, but thats with extensive suspension modification to stuff bigger tires on them as well.

Sorry OP, I didn't read original your post thoroughly enough. I would imagine those are fairly rare. I didn't even know they made them in that size. I would bet good money that they will rub, probably bad with no lift.

It's all good, thanks for your suggestion anyways . Definitely thinking they will rub for sure without any sort of lift. Was hoping to get in on some blemished wheels as Vin has 5 of that spec in stock. Might be having to find a different wheel. Leaning towards the FN FX Pro in bronze, or some Method 305's.

No way man, those are super nice. I know it's the way the sun is hitting them in that picture too but they pop nicely.

I would guess they are going to rub. I have the17x8.5 with -12 offset but I have 305/65/17 tires and 3" lift and get a little rubbing at full lock on the chassis mount. You would be better off with the 17x8.5 and -12 offset. Here's a couple pictures of mine but remember, the tires are 305's.

I have also had issues finding 2 gen threads discussing in this wheel size for the Ray10. Also this is my first post on TW!

I'm sitting on a pair of 17x9 Brushed Copper Ray10's, that I bought for my 2nd gen. I bought them on impulse because they are such a great looking wheel, and I didn't want to miss out on the copper finish. But I am planning on doing a 3" lift and BMC on 285/70/17 tire. Will it work? Or should I go with the 17x8.5 wheels and call it a day?

    Cheers!

I ended up going with 17x8.5. Glad I did, 2.5" lift on 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires and they rub like crazy in certain positions in reverse, as well as bumpy corners going forward. I went to town with a heat gun up there to try and mitigate some of it and it helped, but didn't eliminate it. I would imagine the 9" with more aggressive back space and larger tire will be even worse, even with and extra half inch of lift. You could always try it and if it doesn't work out sell as a wheel tire combo and buy again.
