I have a torque wrench from Harbor Freight. I don’t use it much but it seems to be fairly accurate compared to the expensive ones I used at work in the past.
I use it to torque lug nuts when I rotate tires and other small projects on the truck. I’m happy with it for the price.

The biggest problem with torque wrenches is how they're stored. They should always be set back to their minimum setting (not zero) when not in use. Most people don't do that. They just leave it on the last setting that was used. This can cause the internal spring to develop a memory, reducing accuracy

Any of you guys get your frame rust notice for the '11-'17? Got mine yesterday. They'll cover frame replacement for 12 years from the original in service date. The kicker is, you have to get it inspected and have their rust preventive applied within 2 years of receiving the letter in order to qualify down the road.

As of now, my frame looks great. I've seen that undercoating bullshit they put on and how it can actually make matters worse if not applied correctly.

KY falls under the "cold weather" list. But winters are typically fairly mild here. Some years we get almost no snow. I don't know....guess I've got 2 years to decide. Until then I will continue to clean the undercarriage frequently....as I always have.

Dammit Toyota. 20+ years and you haven't fully gotten a grasp on this yet?

I've not received anything yet. Did they extended this to now include 2011+?

Don't have it in front of me ATM. But 99% sure it said '11-'17...which would extend into the 3rd gens too

Ugh... I'll keep an eye out for anything in the mail. I must admit, my frame looks pretty darn good after 8 winters. It's never been treated, but I do try to run it through a touchless wash with a good bottom blast weekly during the winter months. Lots of salt & calcium chloride used here in winter.

I try to avoid the underwash.
