What pressure is everyone running for street driving?

 

I'm starting out with 35psi all around to start with mostly highway driving for the next month or so. Will probably try something like 34psi F and 32psi R with dirt roads, sand and rocks in the mix.

 

Mine are performing great but I don't see how they will make it to the manufacturer Mileage. Only at 20k and just don't see more than another 20k at best

 

Can I get certificates for these if I get them from your DT eBay store and installed at a DT? Only asking because I have eBay bucks to use.

Just sold my 17” AT3s, now need to find some for my 16” FJ Trail Team rims...what are my best “pizza cutter” options for Wildpeaks?

 

The Wildpeak doesn't come in any skinny and tall sizes with the 16" wheel. If you're trying to get over 32" diameter tires and less than 255 width you'll have to look at other options like the Cooper ST Maxx.

How about 275 70 17 C load?

 

Right now I’m considering a dedicated winter tire. I know these won’t be as good but are they really as good as everyone says on slick roads?

For background I currently run load C Duratracs and while they do awesome in deep or soft stuff they leave something to be desired on hard pack and ice. Are the AT3Ws going to be similar?

 

I found the AT3s to have surprisingly good winter traction, ice and snow.

The 275/70R-17 WildPeak A/T3W is non-socking item therefor it can not be listed through the eBay feed.

They are exceptional on wet roads, if that is what you mean by slick. Better than any other AT tire I have run. This shouldn’t be surprising when you consider they are being marketed as a 4 season tire. They must have a softer rubber compound , designed to take on colder, more adverse conditions. As far as ice goes, they don’t perform as well as my dedicated winter tires, Toyo GSI5 nor my last set which were Bridgestone Blizzak. So yeah, It could be they compare to your Duratrac’s which I have heard others say they use in snow/winter.

In my opinion, Winter tires are soft and effective. They aren’t particularly sexy, but they work better than any all terrain out there. I think the only place this might less obvious is in deeper snow with milder weather where more defined lugs help. But on slick/icy surfaces true winter tires are the way to go, no doubt about it.

I really like like my AT3W’s and took them through a winter when they were on the newer side. They were decent. I think these are perfect for someone who only wants one set of tires or happen to live in a region where winter temps are relatively mild

 

Thanks for the report. I think I’m going to go for something like a Cooper M+S for the winter. They have pretty good size voids for a winter tire so they should do well in the deep stuff too. Then I can just pick up some new Falkens in the spring and ditch these noisy Duratracs.

 

Take a look at the Cooper AT3 4s seems to have great reviews. I only have ~500 miles so far. No complaints.
My grabber AT2’s were fantastic in snow and you can even get them studded. They lasted me around 70,000

 

That’s funny, I was just researching the AT3 4s. I had the previous Cooper AT3 on my old 93 F250 and that thing did way better in the snow than my FJ Cruiser With Yokohama ATs the same winter. I just chocked it up to the truck being so much heavier. But maybe the coopers were just that good.

While the Duratracs do have their redeeming moments I just feel like I can do better. I’m driving a lot more highway now so I really want that traction on those surprise ice patches than show up around here.

 

I am going to check out those Cooper M+S. I winter with larger voids sounds appealing

 

They’ve been around forever so they must be doing something right. And you can pick them up for around $100 a tire. Really don’t see many reports on them surprisingly.
