For those of you that are getting the methonal kit the kit comes with nozzle that needs to be threaded
into the intake pipe and sticks straight out. You have to drill a hole and tap and die the threads for the nozzle.

I had this setup and later got the low profile nozzel and adapter that has two pieces that thread together.

The low profile is a better setup but either will work.

Hey, how do you check if your engine is running too lean or too rich? Like a scanner/sensor, smell or something?

 

That's only used for non-antifreeze liquids, I used one when I was in Mexico in a different car with distilled water and there was around a 15 degree F difference on the obd2 scanner.

 

With an AFR Gauge like this.

On full boost you should be at 11.5-12.5

 

Like John said you need an aftermarket AFR gauge with a wideband O2 sensor to truly know for sure, but if you're running really lean you'll be able to tell when you accelerate under boost when the engine starts to ping (sounds like marbles in a can, it's an awful sound). Too rich and you'll probably smell a lot of fuel, tons of black soot on the exhaust, etc. Running rich isn't as bad as running too lean though, too lean can destroy an engine in short order if you push it too hard.

AFR gauges are good to have because you can monitor it closely by numbers

They're both IK22s but the part number on LCE's site (1084044) doesn't match up with any of the numbers listed on that Rockauto link, so they might be different...I'm not sure.

What's weird too is that LCE says in that description that they recommend staying with the normal heat range plugs if you are running a stock supercharger setup...that's the first I've ever heard of that. I've always heard that even with a stock supercharger setup you should still run 2 step cooler plugs, which is what IK22 is. Stock is IK16, IK20 is 1 step cooler and IK22 is 2 steps cooler (IK18 doesn't exist)

 

You don’t want the stock plugs, I ran them originally and I had two of them crack probably from pinging.
Ik22 will help prevent ping

 

yeah I agree, that's why it's odd to see that LCE is suggesting otherwise and even says that's what Magnuson suggests. But everywhere else I've read has stated to run cooler plugs when you install the supercharger, even if you are running the stock pulley. I've always run 2 step cooler plugs even before the 7th injector and had no issues with that so I think that's the way to go.

Stock is all you need. Just look at the date code on them
