TSB parts ordered

The good folks at Panama City Toyota, who I bought my truck from...

were cool about it, and ordered me the rear spring TSB parts without even seeing my truck.

It saves me a trip over there...approx 40 miles one way.

They will call me when the parts are in and schedule the install. The service manager said it's about a 3 hour job...so I may wait it out...

They also informed me the TSB includes shocks?...and bump stops?...and an alignment?

I may grab some 5100's and have them installed up front at the same time.

I hope to report more good words on this dealership after the TSB is done soon.

You may want to ask the dealer if they will install the billys up front while doing the TSB
Have heard some will, some wont. but if they do its a free alignment.
as a reference, i set my billys at .85 .
my TSB gave me about 1 1/2 inches of lift just after the TSB was done
but a week later when i installed the billys, the back was only 1 inch higher than stock.
glad i did the .85 because it retained the factory look, just a inch higher

If I can get the billys in time...and the dealer will install them up front...I'll go that route.

And...I was on the fence (like a lot of folks here) on .85 or 1.75...but I will be using my truck as a truck, so I think the rear will settle...so I'll probably go with your suggestion to go w/ .85

The service guy said something about new shocks anyway? I didn't think the 2010's got new ones with the TSB?

 

btw...

what's the going rate to install billys up front and an alignment, should I have to have it done later, after the TSB has already been done?

And...

Assuming they do...or do not, replace my shocks...

Is there any reason to replace the rear shocks w/ billys in the rear on my new truck. Are the rear billys that much better than my brand new ones already on the truck?

because, I'd only do the fronts to level the truck.

I think 08 was the last year to get new shocks. 09-11 have the new shocks and don't get springs. The srpings will really jack up the rear, 1.5" sounds about right. It took 3" up front to level it out - I used a spacer. My dealer talked about the harsh ride afterward, seems allot of folks complain about how high the rear sits and how harsh the ride is. I am like this is a truck and not a car, right? It rides fine for me.

Dont believe the 2009 - 2010 get the new shocks.
I only put the billys up front,
the back end is so light really no need to upgrade.
may-be after hauling some things you could deside to upgrade latter if needed.

Unsure of the going rate to have the billys installed
me and a buddy did them at his house,
you will need a spring compressor, and i would remove the sway bar to make it easier.
dont forget the alignment afterwards.
