Rattle left driver side.

Metallic rattle which sounds to be in the left front tire region. Only happens when going over ripple/washboard bumps. Checked cab mounts, radiator mounts, and checked torque on all suspension on the left front.

Thoughts, ideas....feelings?

 

When i bought my taco new, i just had driven it home and when i pulled over, a friend said theres a rattling noise when i was stopped. It took us a while to figure out what it was but it was the scratch guard? Dunno what its called lol underneath. With the littlest tap it would rattle cause it makes contact on the metal frame, driver side.

 

I have seen the brake pads rattle in the calipers over sharp bumps etc , when the pads start to wear down . Check the retaining clips as well .... worth a look .

You mean the skid plate?

 

Check the heat shields on your exhaust

Ahh ok, bummer man, hope you figure it out and not that major of a problem

 

Tap around underneath with rubber mallet. Sometimes it's just a stone stuck somewhere.

 

Just left-foot brake to put some pressure on the pads while driving over a rough patch. No need to start jacking up and pulling wheels.

I think you mighta figured it out. Seems like left front pad. No sound going over same man hole cover with brake on. Is there a fix to make the pad not rattle? Ive changed rotors and pads before on different vehicles so have some knowledge.

 

I’d first check to make sure the anti rattle clips are in place , I’ve seen them pop out of their holes before , and make sure they are contacting the pins and pad properly
