I searched with no exact match so I figured I'd try a new thread..
First off, I'm new here. Just picked up my first taco, a TRD Off-road with all the bells and whistles. However I think it's dumb LEDs don't come standard. But it has projectors. Other than that I love it so far.

My question is, I bought the Xtreme LEDs (H11) for low beams first from Xenon Depot. After installing, the heat dissapators have very little room to be fanned out, I would imagine leaving them stuck together wouldn't dissipate the heat properly, but while they're fanned out they're hitting a side of truck or touching a wire. Have any of you experienced this, what solution did you come up with?

I will look again. Must have missed it. I didn't see an exact one to my match if you're saying I missed it in a search.

My truck came with similar bulbs presumably installed by the dealer. The cooling fins are just shoehorned in there, some touching the inner fender. The bulbs are still working fine eight months later with no flicker or any other issue. Never ran OEM halogens so can't compare.

I'll probably get full replacement headlights at some point, either the Morimoto LED XB or 2020 TRD Pro OEMs. Doing it mostly for the sequential turn signals lol.

Browsed through most of it, so you're saying go with HIDs? I personally have always liked LEDs though.

I put Diode Dynamics in everywhere inside and out and love them. I'm not sure why all the LED hate.

LEDs look great until you encounter inclement weather. They dont have the throw HID's have.

^^^^^.....that. I had the XD leds in mine. Driving on an unlit hwy at night in a downpour was the most dangerous drive I’ve ever done. They are completely worthless and at 70 in good weather you outrun them. If something is in the road that’s not reflective driving that fast, you don’t have a chance of seeing it in time to avoid hitting it.

The HIDs are ridiculously bright, especially the XDs with the Phillips bulbs. Sharp, colorful cutoff so they look cool and you could do 100 and not outrun the throw on those. Only thing is they bounce all over the place going over the bumps in the 3rd gen projector.

So take your pick or just go run the GE halogens that are recommended in the above thread. Of course you can retrofit but get your wallet out.

HID all the way. LED’s aren’t as good in our housings, and they don’t have as much heat produced. I would look into DDM’s HID kit. Almost two years with it and not a single issue and it’s a night and day difference from stock.

From what everyone is saying I don't really want the hids bouncing Round all over the place otherwise I would.

They don’t “bounce all over the place”. Occasionally I’ll hit a bump hard or be on a very rough road and they’ll jiggle slightly. Highly recommend them from first hand experience.

Well dang. I just bought these LEDs. So which HIDs I've seen a few different reccomended. And can I get them in the same white color as the LEDs produce.

This is what I’ve been running for about two years with zero issues.

Color shouldn’t be as important as throw and performance

I got Morimoto HIDs, and they are far better than any LED I have used.
My friend raves about LEDs and tries to get everyone Into cheap Amazon LEDs.
