Entry! My garage (built in 1926) taken at 23:00 last night. Tried to get some stars in there but there was too much ambient light.

Tough job perfecting these night shots, always a good subject, the noises at night freak you
you out while working on a picture and those settings :) on the end, never happy, lol...
Still trying to figure out how to eliminate the picture noise!!!

Turn the iso down and start with a 30 second exposure. Work from there f/8 or maybe just a little wider.

I usually use iso 200 at night.

Before and after. I tend to slightly underexpose night shots so I can pull it back up to what it looked like exactly when I took the shot. Low ISO so no noise is introduced into the picture. I just "personally" find it easier to work with in post if the shot is just slightly underexposed.

That's what I had it at, 200, maybe the shutter, had it in bulb for around 40 sec
Noise reduction was off, manual, something was off

Where are you seeing noise in your photo? I'm not seeing it on here? Shadows?

Maybe I'm just to critical of myself, when I focus in, seems noisy and blurry, maybe just star movement

If you went 40 seconds then yes it was star movement. Try to keep it under 30 seconds.

Too late if I wanted it to be. Just fucking around tonight and picked up a couple of shots.

About 30 miles from my house to get away from the light pollution. There was still some but nothing like at my house.

Great shot! I love how the airplane flew almost exactly under Polaris.

Thank you! I was hoping I would get my shots between planes and almost did. 20 minutes of shooting 30 second exposures but one slipped thru. Threw them in sequator and this is what it came up with. I think I'm going to try this again but shoot a single, 30 minute exposure and see what I come up with. That should capture a lot of planes on approach to Atlanta hahahaha

    Thank you!

I think every single one of my long exposure astronomy shots has been ruined by an aircraft. Even way up in the middle of the state where there is practically zero population density... somehow there are flight paths up there.

You should look up a flight path map sometime. It's ridiculous! You don't really realize how many aircraft are in the sky at any one point in time.
