I think 99% of the reasonable 3rd gen owners go to other places for advice and come to 3rd gen threads to troll. I personally ask the guys in the graveyard thread when I have a question about anything.

Rubbing alcohol removes fresh pine sap. I don't think it would hurt the paint so it might be worth a try.

If it's just embedded organic material, and not scratches, Krud Kutter would probably do the trick, if WD-40 doesn't..

Wow, what an edgy comment. Don't cut yourself.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks to everyone else for their suggestions. The tree's remains are stubborn but I believe it'll come off eventually.

I would just sand it and throw some satin black spray paint on it.

Get a magic eraser and go to town. Otherwise shoot some spray paint on it and call it a day.

Mineral spirits and/or ethanol would be my go-to. Pretty good at dissolving stuff that you want and not dissolving what you don't

Might also try simple green and a nylon brush, too. Hot water should help.

Yeah, it's serving its purpose. That doesn't mean I want my truck looking like shit for all time. Should I never wash the mud off my boots because they're designed to keep mud off my feet?

I can totally see the opposite conversation, too.

"I just tried to clean up my bumper after tapping a tree. Now I got all these swirls, what should I do?"

"WTF bro, you didn't use a nylon brush, did you???"

Regardless of all the other shenanigans...

You should have have cleaned the bumper up by now. If it is sap that's on there causing all the other crap (bark) to stick, the longer it stays on the more difficult it will be to remove. Try that rubbing alcohol. Let us know if it worked.
