    I just posted a thread in the 2nd Gen. forum, but thought I should come introduce myself as well. I recently bought my 4th Tacoma, a 2011 base model 4.0L V6 5AT. It replaced my favorite truck ever, a '98 Limited XtraCab with 3.4L V6 5VZ-FE. The truck was still in great shape overall but the frame was a victim of New England road salt and is now being parted out. No recall, and way too expensive to replace the frame - ugh.. So now I'm in the process of getting my 2011 where I want it - added a 3" Rough Country suspension lift kit with Rancho Quick Lifts on the front along with new wheels and sneakers. Also added a fiberglass tonneau cover, which I had on my '98 and really loved. Have to do something about the sound system soon - the CD player with MP3/WMA playback (woo!) is about as advanced as the in-dash cassette deck that came with my '92 Tacoma! That's part of customizing it and making it mine though, so more fun to come!

    Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    I just traded (sold) my 12th Toyota Truck (3 Tundras, 3 older small Pre-Tacos and 6 Tacomas - Gen 1 thru Gen 3) and I loved them all.

    Looking back .. my favorite Toyota pickups were the smaller Pre-Tacos with the single wall beds and R22 engines ... small, simple, light and fun to drive.

    Now have a RAV4 and like it too.
