Taco (gen 2) write up...350k crossed & jamming to 400k

uneven tire wear is also an indicator

 

the taco dude with 580k+ miles stated in his post that he only changed his rear shocks/front coil overs once in that many miles
I gotta assume most folks (regardless of type of automobile) change their shock too early
jiffy lube spraying your shocks with oil & then telling you they need replacement is real stuff
peeps fall for it

if there is no leak, no uneven tire wear, & you are braking/cornering safely, then most likely ones shocks are good

 

the windshield is staying broke until 500k, sorry lol
if I replace it, the engine or trany will fail hahahhaha

I have been pulled over for it once in 7 years
(in sf by bike cop, they got nothing better to do in feces central & homeless/druggie disneyland I guess)
but the crack is on the passenger side & doesnt affect driver visibilty...cops just gave me a warning
its purely cosmetic & I have fallen it love with this crack

 

I just love blasting of the line in my taco....she aint super fast, but it damn quick for a stock 4x4
so she is running like usain bolt (running as good as new IMO)
I will keep the forum posted....350k is coming up, lots of maint to do
(trany service & rad fluid swap at the top of the list with some fresh tires for winter)

 

picking up M1 5w30 full synth today for next oil change....200 miles shy of 335k....I see 350k on the horizon

just to be clear, because some folks cant read
Im changing oil every 5k miles......that means 335k, 340k, 345k, & 350k if every 5k miles is too hard to understand
Ive done it since nov 1 2012 (when I 1st purchased truck) & plan to continue to do so until I retire this taco

& I am going to do its first oil change in the next few days

& should surpass 339k in the next few days

next oil change is around the corner at 340k
