I’ve never seen or heard of this tool before. I guess it’s time for research. I guess it holds as tight as the surface behind it will allow.

 

Getting rid of mine as well. It only took backing into a tree to bust up that cheap plastic garbage and replace it with a real steel @Fabfours bumper. Something I intended to do at some point just not this soon. I recommend to anyone that has that plastic junk on their Taco to consider replacing it at some point. Just a tap and it was gone. Can't imagine getting rear ended with that plastic. The damage done will be huge!

This is great for the exact reason Bob said. I have used this for the 50. inch light bar and soooo many other things! Real handy.

 

About $65 on Amazon. The tool you didn't know that you couldn't live without........, until you need it!

Waay better than nutserts in my opinion.
TackLife was the one that I bought and the Astro Pneumatic mandrels fit. They're probably all made in the same plant in China.

 

I experienced the same issue, just a little tap backing into a tree and the end cap and supporting inner bumper structure was toast! Went with the Fab Fours Premium for the rear and ordered the SSO Hybrid for the front.

 

Do you have an iPhone /Android? they have apps that you can download and get the stations thru your phone to your headuint. Good phone reception clear radio reception! Works for me.

Yes but I’m a purist. The compression on cell is nearly as bad as XM. Downloaded music is only a step up but too much overhead to plan ahead.

We have a great selection of true HD rock stations in Boston, for the past 35 years I’ve just tuned them in, but this head is either vacillating between HD and static or just static. This can’t be the design. So I’ve isolated all the issues I expected and still no good.

 

I cleaned my mass air flow sensor today. Super easy. I’ll clean the throttle body tomorrow after I pick up a gasket.

 

I sure you have but, have you ohm checked ALL grounding points to your radio? A bad, loose ground will mess everything up.

 

Did the FM booster help at all? Any issue removing the XM radio module?

 

Did a random mockup for a new sticker I'm thinking about printing, maybe. It's a love it or hate it thing I'm sure, not everyone's cup of tea.

 

So y’all are telling me to buy a good one now instead of buying a cheap one and upgrading later. Not sure what else I would need it for but I’m sure there will be plenty of other projects on the truck or around the shop.

Well how many products have you bought from Harbor Freight/ Sears, and which were better longer lasting? Go short or go loooooong? Mine was $65. Middle of the range? Maybe. Up to you after looking in to them. GL Edit: The length of the handle is real important, longer the better IMHO.

 

I don’t buy much from HF and Sears has closed over here. The only time I buy from HF is if it is a one time use thing. I usually buy the 4 out of 5 star tools. Don’t need Snap-On but Proto and BlackHawk are really good for what I am usually doing. Might have to look at HD or Lowe’s. But you say longer handles are better for leverage.
Edit: So would this tool be good for mounting the lights in the grill too?

 

The antenna booster did improve non-HD reception on a weak channel that I clearly expected weak signal noise. It did nothing to strengthen any HD reception issues, which I was surprised by because those are stations that HD is in/out so I’d expect some improvements.

Removing the XM is painless, 4 screws and the patch cables. Bonus it removes the icon from the source interface. Electronically this could improve other reception issues as it removed a possible source of stray RF interference.

I started by testing all connections and power. I know enough about radio to know this is not normal.
