I have seen otherwise from multiple people. Its basically upper push. Upper pull. Legs.

All the push/pulls were like that. Never seen a push/pull that was a bi/bicep-chest/tri split.

*raises hand* I have the answer professor.

It’s not that I disagree with the over all claim I just personally take offense.

My masters electives were all PhD required courses in research and biostatistics so if I chose to compete my PhD I’m as much of the way there as possible. There is a total difference in how the classes are taught. I get that... and kind of understand why. But even with a masters I can read research. I’m not stupid enough to say “science doesn’t prove shit”... no matter how drunk I get LOL
    Push: bench, military press, triceps
    Pull: rows, pull ups, biceps

Triceps exercises are pushing away from the body, biceps are pulling towards the body.

Yea you got me. Thought about it after I said it. I always saw it as just upper body push and upper body pull but you’re right.

Going to have to bring this point up to the girl. She’s a PT so she can’t refute the science!

Thats the distinction! Master students learn a pen and paper version of science. Once you do it, its completely different and all the pen and paper junk is irrelevant. Read about driving a car vs driving one, read about shooting a firearm vs shooting one, reading all my posts on TW about exercise science vs exercising, all the employment training you have ever received vs actually doing your job. And for the record, gravity is still a theory, and cancer still kills people... that certainly says something.

Now some power lifting routines may consider are accessory and they don’t group those in with the major push/pull. So that may be a difference in Powerlifting programs vs more BB type programs.

Have you checked out the following for nutrition and training:
    Dr. Layne Norton (Biolayne)
    Lyle McDonald (Body Recomposition)
Dr. Eric Trexler and Greg Nuckols (Stronger by Science)

I personally think these guys websites and podcasts are worth the time if you have not checked them out. Wealth of knowledge.

I live on such a tight budget I’m either working, exercising, or sitting on my ass at home doing nothing recovering from those two things LOL

That is true and I get that but I still think a masters degree should mean you aren’t totally ignorant lol
Like I don’t run SAS everyday but I’m not a buffoon either LOL

And actually I do run data analytics a few times a week so BOOM! I do research.
I just don’t get to publish on it.

I have the same thought every day.

I work so much that I dont have much of a social life outside of my wife. Its not ski season yet, so I'm not spending much time in the mountains either. I leave TW open on my split screen while I work. The little interaction is enough to satisfy me.

Now that you said that, I'm gonna passive-aggressively ignore your posts until tomorrow just so you dont think I'm on here.

    Better? Debatable.

Busier? 100%. I am way, way, way too busy. Like I said, the posts I make on TW are my social life at the moment. Ive started participating in the grave yard shift thread due to my late evenings as well. I hope its a phase because I am burning out.

Yeah I don’t have cable or internet at home. I just cook and read when I’m home.

Speaking of that I need to meal prep breakfasts for this week.

You have got to be insane busy. My best friend just got his MPH/MD while working as an EMT as much as possible and lucky he graduated when he did because 30 more days of all that and he would have lost it.
He took a month vacation before residency to get his sanity back.

Its great being busy. Its really just a time management thing. Its an art. Work Life Balance.

I think I’m going to do onion and red bell pepper crustless quiches. I cook them in glass pie tins.

Sometimes I do scrambles, omlettes, hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, or like nuts and cheese sticks for breakfasts.
