Longer YES. Some of the larger "nuts" pull really hard! I do not want them to strip out of the threads when pulling longer for more leverage. You might consider pulling short for the first pull and increase the depth as you install the nut. You will see what I mean when you get one, also PRACTICE on something that you do not want to use! To get the feel of the contraction of the nut. There is a definite learning period. You do not want to have to drill one out!!! It will be spinning!! Ask me how I know???

 

Hoping to get enough members together so @SOS CONCEPTS will do a run of their Streamline Front Bumper with a 2" hitch tube to replace my front as well. They make a great looking bumper!

 

I personally would NOT use on anything but steel/aluminum/metal. Plastic would pull right through. IMHO.

 

I was talking about mount a 30” LED light bar behind the grill. Secure the brackets into the bumper area. I guess it is steel/aluminum/space age polymer? Hell IDK, but they look good and seem every functional.

 

I might be in depending on the timing and cost. I have that little wedding thing coming up. And want some sliders. Wonder if @SOS CONCEPTS would discount a bundle?????

You can just drill into the aluminum internal bumper if you don’t want to use brackets. That’s how I mounted mine. Then used lag bolts designed for metal. No need to use brackets there unless you wanted to.

I'm guessing based on their other streamline bumpers between $700 - $800 depending on options but that's just a guess on my part.
