Sis and BIL took me to Denmos after Fluid Filming their rigs.
Half pounder burger and fried shrimp hit the spot.:hungry:

It replaced the weight I sweated off wearing a Tyvek suit in 85* swamp azz heat.

Foundation should be pretty good normally because it's poured with a subgrade that takes into consideration the frostline and rain amounts. The sidewalk and steps are usually poured on top or just slightly into a subgrade so, in a way, it's superficial. But that's not to say they aren't liable and should have spent the money to do it correctly in the 1st place. It did shed water and cause damages to your property. I would make them (whoever "them" are) check your foundation also.

There are quite a number of neighborhoods in the Midwest that have no curb & gutter

The drop off from my property to the pavement is more than the picture shows. A friend in construction told me they should have brought in fill to level everything or put up some sort of retainer and back filled it.

Hopefully not running the length of a house and within 3 or 4'. That's pretty critical. But, I also gotta add if the material will handle it.

Yes. They could have done a number of different things. Gutter, french drains, grade change, sloped the road. It looks like there a grate drain in there. French drains wouldn't have been hard. I don't like them because they can smash and plug over time, but it's better and cheaper than screwing up someone's yard and house. I wonder how well they backfilled any stumps and what their positioning was. See any of that sinking?

Just got back form 3 weeks in W TX. Had to go to Houston on Thursday, so left at 0300 to beat the rain, well that didn’t work out for me. Left Houston @ midnight Thursday night and tried to get home. All the roads out of Houston were closed. Waze was useless, my TomTom was just as bad. Finally they both agreed on a route out. Pass hundreds of trucks and cars just parked up and went off at the exit me technology was telling me.
Problem, there is a state trooper blocking the path forward. So I stop, put my hazards on and get out, it is now 0130. I walk up the the patrol car and say, “Top of the morning to you officer!”. He chuckles and asks how he can help. I said, both my TomTom and waze are saying to exit here and take this left and then that right over there and run that road to get out. The trooper says, well, I can tell you that they are wrong. I said, Ok, and he said, we still have boats on that road rescuing people... I go, well, that is inconvenient, then. The trooper asks, where are you trying to go? I said, out of Houston, anyway, anyhow to get out of this place. The trooper said, the only road that they knew of still open is HWY 146, so I thanked him and headed back towards Houston about 8 miles to find this HWY.
Took that to E HWY 90 to Beaumont. There was water absolutely everywhere and the roads I took were down to half a lane and less at times. The worst was on E HWY 90 for about 5 miles, I drove through 4” to 12” of water, to the north side of Beaumont.
Once on I10 at Beaumont, I was the only vehicle on the interstate either way all the way to about 10 miles into LA. The LA Troopers were getting everyone off who were heading West, and sending them to I20.
I walked in my house in New Orleans at 0620, so wasn’t to bad, but I can tell you, I haven’t focused on something for that long for about 30 years.
Once home, I found out that they closed the I10 bridge due to barges hitting it, so all in all I was lucky to get out of Houston...
Feel really bad for all the folks that got water, as we have been through that and it ain’t purty...
