    You guys must all have an unlimited supply of money or get GREAT deals on all of these mods. I like good tools and equipment, but the mods for the Tacoma have to be small or inexpensive right now. The kids tuition is killing me. Old dad here, gets the hind teet. I like @shane100700 light bar set up. He figured out a good way to do it in my budget.

    Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
    Hi, Voice of Experience here... If you're going to get one, spend the couple extra bucks and get one with a storage case. I didn't, and I regret it. I neglected the fact that it's a SET of tools (handles, mandrels, wrench, and selection of rivnuts) and it's nice to keep everything together and be able to see what you've got to work with at a glance.

    I used this tool to add threads to the top 2 screws that hold the rear license plate (stock is lag screws into plastic bumper, if you've forgotten). Tried to back up the plastic with some SS washers reamed out just large enough for the rivnut, but found that if you don't have a way of TIGHTLY holding the washers up against the plastic, the rivnut will expand between the washer and the plastic and the washer just falls off. They seem to be holding in the plastic well enough to keep a license plate on, though.

    Here's the one I got:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RCPVLKE/

    Quality was "Meh." Probably could have done just as well with HF.

    That’s why I did it that way! We do pretty decent and could do like most but I have other things to spend money on. Like landscape curbs and new fencing. Not to mention paying off the house 15 years early.

    We each stick to a “fun” budget, which is what I use. I also suspect lots of people spend all their extra cash on the Tacoma and/or charge it. More then will admit to it anyways.

    with hitch instead of winch mount.

    @SOS CONCEPTS

    Should I start a thread to track interest in this product?

    Would I be able to get this without the angled bull bar? I’d prefer not having it, but will purchase regardless.

    I’m a definite and it sounds like Bob is a pretty strong maybe as well as a few others with varying levels of interest.

    I would say i am a strong maybe. I need to see a pic. Anyone have one? Does the bat block the behind grill light bar? Looks like it does in some pics of the winch version. That would be a deal breaker.

    Thx for the info. I too am not impressed with XM radio. Now that I know I can pull the module without any issues it will be on my list when I go in and connect my T harness for adding 2x Alpine amps to the system.

    I thought the quality was decent. Side by side I'll bet they're identical and made on the same facility just under a different brand name. Again, I think I gave $65 for mine. I would do a search on ebay, you might get a better price.

    @Easthill Bob, @Ruminator, @Spike91321, & @shane100700 I greatly appreciate all of the help you guys have given me so far. I’m trying to be smart with the mods on this truck. I pissed away a ton oof money on my last vehicle. I got a great trade in, but still spent money on stuff I really didn’t need.
    I’ve been fortunate to be able to pay off my house 4 yrs ago at 45. No real bills except tuition for high school for one and college for another, and 6k left to pay on the Tacoma I bought in February. Just tying to save a bunch to retire and enjoy it before I die. I’m trying to learn to be frugal. Not doing to well with that. :notsure:
