No I have not lost a bet. My wife father is dying and I am preparing food for the next couple of days at a time for her as she’s at the hospital all day.

I wish losing a bet were the case. I am a pretty good cook I am slow and deliberate and not in a hurry and usually my work comes out fairly good

I am also pickling cucumbers. They have become a big hit with everybody. I tried a couple of them last night with the ghost peppers and the bite was not overwhelming and the cucumbers were very flavorful.

Thanks I am sure I am not alone and not the only person but it has become pretty stressful. I just try to do everything that is asked of me to make it more bearable for her on her end.

    Refrigerator pickles?

I've made them before, and they can be better than anything you can buy.
But I got so disgusted with my losing fight with groundhogs the last couple years...
    ...that I temporarily gave up.
I shoot one and another occupies the same hole within a week.
A groundhog can pretty much ruin a garden in a day.

    Next year...an electric fence.
And maybe I'll put a Jack Russell terrier inside to boot.

    What's best for that?
Deer hunting friends are careful not to use anything that leaves too much of a scent on the hunting clothes. Then air dry them.
I know they told me but I forgot.

I was never very serious about deer hunting, but had success anyway.
Enough for me. And more than enough of the labor involved after you down one.

Nevertheless, I get the appeal of it.
I was just more focused on grouse.
They snookered me so many times it got personal. :p

    And all his relatives.
Are groundhogs a problem for you?
The farmers around here love it when you volunteer to shoot groundhogs on their land.
