The coast line along the Olympic National Park. As far as backpacking goes there's nothing like it, almost like being on a deserted island.

I love Yosemite but I haven't been in the last fifteen years. I hear it's far more difficult to get in now because of reservations. I still nostalgically like Joshua Tree because of the alien-like landscape the weird rocks and trees and all the time I spent there as a kid.

You can always camp at Bridalviel creek, Its first come first serve, about 100 campsites? I highly recommend it! leave during the weekday to get a spot for the weekend!!! FYI It gets pretty cold up.

I agree with others in that I have no way to definitively choose which is my favorite! They're all so different from one another. I'll say Badlands and Tetons/yellowstone out of the 26 that I have checked off my list so far.

I thought GSMNP was overcrowded as well, but those views are pretty cool. Here's one for ya. While walking up the paved path to clingmans dome.

Yes! camp in the park. We camped in Canyon Campground b/c of the central location and I'd definitely pick that campground again just for it's proximity to everything

You are right. It's a good central camping spot.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, the friends we're going with are up for camping. They want to stay at one of the hotels in the park.

I've lived less than an hour from there for 20+ years and never been inside that park. Also I think you mean Holbrook. And since I'm nitpicking Arches is in UT not NM.

probably some of the coldest water I’ve ever felt. We are from the Tahoe area and compared to some of the glacier lakes, Tahoe feels like a hot tub.

Definitely worth a visit. You can easily hit Yellowstone / grand Teton / glacier in a trip depending where your coming from. Our plan is to hit glacier again next year and go farther north to Jasper.

Yep! A lot of the glaciers require a hike.
