Yeah I'd love to find a shop that just did a swap to be able to score some parts, but I've been out of touch in the AZ wheeling community for a bit (sold the DC in my profile a while back) missed wheeling too much and had to get back in the game!! haha There seem to be a lot of scrap yards with a lot of parts, but they seem to want a premium for them. Currently watching copart.com as well to maybe score a full donor truck. I'll most likely just slowly gather parts, rebuild each of those parts (like you did), and eventually have everything needed and swap it all in. It will be a little more costly but in the end everything will have been fully re-built and ready for fun.

I appreciate the time you spent on this thread documenting your process, makes it easy to follow and give idea's on what to expect during the swap.

ETD, how do you like your spacer kits from Wheelers? Did they help the CV angle and drive shaft angle enough to make them worth it?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

They work fine. My CV angles are pretty good not sure how much better because I put the spacers on at the same time I installed the front diff, so I don't really have anything to compare to.

If you're doing a 2nd Gen 4x swap. @foxrcing07 is in the middle of a 4x swap. I'm sure, between the two of us, we could help you navigate collecting the parts and doing the swap.

Depends on how much you want to spend all at once. You could probably get all the parts from RanchoToyota or ToyAuto Mart tomorrow if you wanted to.

It took me almost 2 years to collect the parts, because I was searching for deals and rebuilding various parts as I collected (and I didn't want to spend the 3500 bucks, I ended up spending, all at once)

Easier shifts from 2wd to 4wd and from hi range to low range.

Also, being that I run manual hubs, I can run true 2wd low range without spinning my CV axles.

And, it just looks cooler

Without spinning the cv's? what? thats hella cool, i really like that. It does look pretty shwifty. So you have to get out of the truck and lock up your front axles to go in 4 like the old school 4x4's?

Yes, mine is set up where I have to manually lock my hubs.

By doing it that way, the only time my CVs turn is if I lock my hubs.

When you have auto (push button) 4wd, your CVs are always turning when your truck is moving.
