    Morning all!

Think my morning got a little ruined. Got a text to call the guy who owns my house when I got off work, figured it was about the busted boiler next door in my grandmothers house (he owns both). It was, but it's looking like after is all said and done it looks like he's going to sell everything off soon, including the two houses. Looking like in the spring I'm gonna have to go house hunting. I have the option of buying this place cheap(ish), but I really am not sure about traveling the mountain long term to get to work. It's a absolute bear during heavy snow and a long drive. I wasn't planning on doing anything for 2-3 years, guess that plan is shot now! Unfortunately due to taxes and location of my work I might be going the MD or WV route. My house specifics are set in stone (minimum 2 car garage and 1.5 baths) and are hard to find at a decent price. Also hate to repay sales tax on 3 vehicles again if I go outta state, but the home taxes on PA are rediculous. There goes my friggin' "weekend"...

    Mornin' all! :pccoffee:

You're 100% right about property taxes in PA. I'm on the verge of tears when I cut a check for my local school district taxes every year. I could buy a decent used car for what I give them...

Don't get me wrong, I love it here in PA, but I have to factor everything in since I live so close to two other states. That and being closer to work would be nice. I've gotten into a place that is a career, not just a "job" so I plan on staying there for a while. The 45-50 minute drive can be numbing sometimes. Some days I don't want to adult anymore...

Could be worse you could be paying new Jersey property taxes. Which I believe is the second highest in the country. But I also do not own a home anymore the ex kept that.

A family friend retired from Jersey to WV. He said his taxes went from like 12k to 800. With more land and a bigger house.

I had a customer from my old job. Hes a retired truck driver he told me when he bought his house taxes were roughly 1500. Before he moved to south Carolina his taxes were up to 22k a year. Same thing as your friend he bought roughly 300 acres and is paying less then 2k a year.

Property taxes are rough, we're currently on the search for a new house and they can really make or break your budget.

I'd rather own a Rv then a house in New Jersey. Seeing how with my income I'd never be able to afford living in this god awful state.

Seeing how everything else goes up but the pay..

Yeah something ain't quite right about that. Most of our family is still in Jersey and we visit often but haven't had the desire to move back.

Critter... I don't know about Pottstown's taxes, but just around the hill here in Oley we are only at about mid $3K in taxes a year. Pretty nice in comparison to lots of places. Maybe check it out and then you're not uprooting everything in life? (Not sure how property and house size changes taxes, but I'm at 0.6 acres land with an 1800 sq.ft. house and a detached 2 car garage and two sheds.)

Thinking about this once the EPA started making almost impossible demands for gas mileage on a 4x4 about the only way is use thinner materials

Which will rust out sooner Granted Liquid Brine does not help.

I bought a 76 Chevy and 77 Ford both 4x4 both new off the lot both manual Transmissions .

Both were snow plow trucks so saw there share of Salt

Now I got 25 years out of them and the might still be used up in the Woods in Vermont
