That’s a good question, feels like it’s towards the inside of my leg but outside the knee cap.

Sounds classic for arthritis. Not a lot you can do if it is. Liquid preps of glucosamine/chondoroitin/msm/hyaluronic acid and fish oil is about it. See an ortho surgeon.

Yeah I’d get it checked out. I’m a fan of PTs. Mine is great about getting me on simple routines to fix me up... or lets me know its something more serious and to see an ortho.

Because I'm 6'4 300lbs and train heavy and hard for strongman comps. More so because that's what the macros come out to with the amount of chicken, beef, and rice I eat a day. I try for around 5000 cals per day on eating days, but its all from clean sources. On off/cardio days I will cut down the cals to around 3200, as well as carbs and protein significantly. I also do a 30-36 hour intermittent fast from Sunday night to Tuesday morning.

Pretty much a recomp diet with higher cals than most. Its helped me go from 282lbs to 300lbs without getting above 18% BF.

Strongman training requires lots of carbs, plus carbs are important for building strength. I do a lot of carb cycling as well to keep from getting fat.

Yeah but strength requires fat intake too. I weigh half what you do and eat almost as much fat.

But I bet he’s twice as strong than you. Hard to tell a dude he needs to change his diet if he can rep more than your max

I’m not telling him to do anything. I’m genuinely curious.

I've worked with a few diet coaches and the current winner of World's Strongest Man is actually doing all my lifting programing right now. I have never been told I need more fats than I am taking in. My priority on high cal lifting days is P/C/F, on low cal cardio days its P/F/C (with fats and protein almost being equal), so my fat intake does change depending on what work I am doing. Having said that, some people might find their diet/training works better with more fat; however, for me, this has been perfect.

I started with just a simple 5-3-1 program for squat/deadlift/bench/and overhead pressing. Did that for about 7 months, then after winning my first comp and getting 2nd in my next one I got a real trainer and got serious to focus strictly on strongman.

Right now he has me doing:

Monday off/fasting day. Message day/chiropractic day. Occasionally some light cardio.
Tuesday is events training. This consists of yoke carries, stone loading, sandbag/keg carries, and farmers carries. Right now it is all fairly light and we are working on speed.
Wednesday is a press/pull day. To start is high rep (10-12) 5 sets of pullups or pull downs then shoulder press/incline bench then all accessories consisting of a lot of tricep and lat work
    Thursday off/cardio
Friday is legs which is A LOT of tempo and paused squats and/or barbell lunges. Romanian DL with a pause at the knee, and then accessories to include ab and core work
Saturday off/cheat day from 12pm to 8pm only
Sunday is press day. This is the fun day where I do log clean and press for reps. Starting out light and high reps to perfect form and lots of pausing at certain key positions. Axle bar deadlift with a double pause (hell on the back and grip), barbell rows, then accessories of back/bicep/trap work.

I am prepping for a big comp in January 2020 so we get to start from the beginning and build from there. The beginning of the program starts with a lot of high rep lightweight movements with dumbbells to focus on learning how to contract and focus each muscle group. For example, the overhead pressing he has me squeeze my upper back and pull my shoulder blades down and back while pressing, then pausing on lockout to feel the muscles work. Or the lifts will be tempo lifts, like squats are 4 seconds down, 1 second pause, then 4 seconds up, for 5 sets of 10. Then each 4-5 weeks the reps go down and the weight goes up, and it will turn more towards barbell work.

    He is my trainer lol

Interesting though, as I started doing the intermittent fasting long before I was working with him.
