Which reminds me. Power tank may also be an option. Less stuff to break and still portable

Yea, kinda clunky and that bag is way overdone. I keep saying I'm going to see if it fits behind the rear passenger seat bin first with the bag (I doubt it will) then without. If it does that will be it's permanent home instead of in the storage container in the bed.

Pretty much everyone I talk to with a single says this...

I have the same pump that I use in the truck right now - it takes forever to pump the tires up to 40ish psi but it gets there. My buddy with a single arb does 3x tires at about 34/35psi by the time I'm done with 1.5x tires up to 40psi. I have an ARB twin waiting to be installed, just haven't had time this year to get around to it. Someday...

Interesting. Does the ARB do them all without needing a break?

Honestly my buddies' single did all four of his without a break inbetween besides screwing and unscrewing the valve caps and moving the line around. Mine can do all four however the pump gets wicked hot an the rubber line starts to get hot as well.. Not sure about the ARB's temperature though.

Alright I'll let you know if my dad doesn't take it. It's going to be a while, I haven't even had time to do an oil change on the truck this year (granted I only drove 4k so far)...

Only Twin is rated at 100% duty cycle. Single is only 50%, but that's enough to do one vehicle. Doing anything more than that without a break isn't a good idea.
I have the same "issue" with 300p, it works, but gets hot af.

I was trying to look up how long can it be used without a break, somehow I can't find that info...

I read somewhere that they break it down into an hour of use. If using it for 1 hour. It will run for 20 mins then needs to cool for 40 mins before being run again. Something weird like that. Basically breaking an hour down into 3rds

For a new one, fairly decent
    Edit
Amazon has them for ~$275 +TX so, saving close to $100

    From the Viair Site

400P-Automatic is VIAIR’s first Automatic shut-off function powerful portable tire inflator. This 33% duty cycle unit is capable of pressures up to 150 PSI and can be operated for up to 40 minutes at a time before needing to be rested (at up to 40 PSI). The 400P-Automatic comes with a close-ended gas station-style air gun for added convenience.

    upload_2019-9-23_12-34-50.jpg

So by my math it should only take less than 5 minute to inflate a 35" tire from 15 psi to 35 psi, x 4 tires is half the 40 minute duty cycle. Since it has overload protection built in I will never worry about it. That and I never intend to run 35" tires. I can get by with 33's at the mall any day of the week.
    :D

You've made me look up ARB... I found the duty cycle (and more) chart.
    Screenshot_20190923-125009_Drive.jpg
So Yeah, single is 50% Duty Cycle, according to them 30min On/30 min Off. Guessing could easily do more than 1 vehicle

    Sorry for jacking the thread

Does anyone have an exploded diagram of the ARB twin compressor? I know it's basically two singles plumbed together. But I'm curious about other differences that allow it to have 100% duty cycle. Is there a heat sink or something?

Another thing is having the twin mounted onboard is another high expense with all the wiring and mounting options you have. Where the portable is plug and play. Just didnt look as cool

I already have an onboard single ARB compressor. But I'm potentially looking to upgrade to the twin. Seeing as the twin is just two singles, I was thinking of just buying another single and piping/wiring them together. Looking at the duty cycle makes me thing something is different. But the parts list shows the single and twin as the same compressor unit.
