I haul a small trailer a lot, and the guys I work with are not exactly careful with the tailgate. There are already a couple dings in the paint from dropping the tailgate onto the trailer jack. Has anyone seen a cap similar to the KBVoodoo one below for 2nd gen? I have looked around for a little bit but not really found anything that would work for my 3rd gen.

Posted this and didn't receive any feedback... Still haven't found anything that does what I am looking for. Might be looking into a custom fabrication out of some sheet metal. Every tiny ding in the top of that tailgate is making me slowly lose my mind.

I don't think either of these is what I really want... my issue is that when someone opens the tailgate and the trailer is hooked up, the top of the tailgate rests on top of the crank for the jack on the trailer... So I am wanting something that replaces the old tailgate cap and hangs over a little bit in the back to protect the paint on the tailgate. Exactly like the KBVoodoo one I posted for 2nd gen.

I think the problem is that the tailgate is curved on the outside so it would be difficult form something out of metal that wraps over the outside.

I have a trailer where the jack is too high and it barely contacts the tailgate. I carry an old baseball glove to put over the top of my jack to avoid damage.

Have you considered modifying the trailer jack crank? Maybe wrapping it with something that will prevent your tailgate from getting dinged if it hits?

Yes, I actually covered the hard jack handle with a foam recoil tube cover meant for an AR-15 that I had laying around. I was hoping for something to cover the damage that has already been done as well as preventing future damage (if there is any).

They fuck your truck up they can pay to fix it. Sometimes a little pain fixes these types of issues.

Interested in this as well. I have the same problem on my trailer. It's not a big deal when I am thinking about it, but would be nice to have some cheap insurance. I had the KBVoodoo part on my second gen and it worked great.

I know right? I want that 2nd gen part for a 3rd gen so badly... It is the ONLY thing I have found that is exactly what I want.
