What is this plug for?

When I installed my DRL's I noticed a plug that was affixed into a fake push button along the row of black stubs near the foglight switch. Anybody know what this plug is used for? It is wired up for something but just doesn't have the button to go along with it lol. It is the one with the slight red tubing on it.

 

I circled the plug and pointed to where it was plugged in... I believe it was plugged in there or the one next to it.

 

I think mine has the same thing. I would have to check but I am almost sure of it. Don't know what it is for but would like know...

 

Its pre-wiring just in case you decide to install the TRD flux capacitor.

Lol c'mon! I really wanna know what its for... maybe I got a special Tacoma thats prewired for the rear lock differential and I just need to install the button!!!!

 

Oh...I was hoping it was out so I could go back in time and steal Marty's Black Toyota .

 

You could always go to the dealership and ask them. They might know if no one on here does.

 

I believe, even if it is for the locking rear diff or any of the other features you would need more than just the switch.

 

what truck has all those spaces with switches (from factory). i know mine has the top three starting from left to right: fog lights, rear lock diff., and the power outlet. but what the hell are the bottom three for.

 

^ Lol I have no idea.... Maybe this plug is for the power source that is in the bed of some trucks... but not mine

 

That one (all the way on the right) is for the toyota security system....

traction control and hill asssit are on the bottom (from memory)

 

ohh, cool, that is two, what would be the third one. btw what tacos would have the traction control and hill assist?

 

i think the top of the line offroad ones have it.

i think the last one is to turn off the side airbags for offroading.

the a-trac button is near the center console and 09s got a line in plug there as well.

 

Top row. Left to right.

Fog lights, Rear Diff Lock, Bed power outlet

Bottom Row. Left to right.

Clutch Start Cancel, Traction/hill start assist control, Toyota VIP security system.

I am positive about the whole top row and the left most switch on the bottom row, and about 80% sure on the other two on the bottom row.
