I found that if I start the data logger before I start my truck it usually works. Turn the key to ignition, start up the data logger then start the truck.

If I try to start the logger after its already running it doesn't work.

2.0 Beta feedback after 400 miles this weekend....

    2.0 Beta 04A71 (Ticket 10087)

    Pros:

    -Smooth idle
    -Throttle response
    -Smooth shifting
    -Linear power band
-MPG on the highway was excellent

    Con:

-The only con for me that remains is the 1st gear low rpm throttle control/tip in. I took the truck off into some loose rocks/sand this weekend and it was'nt as controllable as 1.05 FOB93. With the 1.05 file you could creep along without feathering the clutch and just apply small amounts of pedal when crawling over terrain to keep from stalling out. It was great for offroad driving. If you do this with 2.0 the truck is a little twitchy. It has either settled in some with miles or my right foot is getting accustomed to it.

overall the 2.0 beta is my favorite file yet. The pros listed above far outweigh the con for me. If i could have the low rpm control of 1.05 with this 2.0 beta i would be thrilled.

    Great job Mat!

Thanks for this, it looks like the new files are great!

One question, WRT the twitchiness - are we talking low range?

One question I have is: how does this new beta effect overall reliability? I would assume there have been some serious manipulation with timing.
The way I can use 5th and 6th now is truly outstanding, but I am just wondering how this effects the engine and transmission? I mean, I know with a MT it's probably not as noticeable as a AT, with all the computer stuff, but I assume there are still sensores with a MT that the ECU is using for info.

I hope this makes sense. I know Mat has said he is dedicated to reliability and drieabilty over sheer power, however, I'm sure there have been significant adjustments made to the ECU mapping.

IMHO and experience with 1.05 and 2.0 Beta, the tunes are only going to increase long term reliabilty. All the jankiness of the stock tunes plus the accumulator did nothing but add wear to the driveline. The only direct fact that I have is the increased smoothness while on the throttle and less driveline clunking.

Again, this is just my opinion. I have yet to add a mod on my cars that I believe will shorten their longevity. I'm too cheap for that.

I was just thinking this morning - man, I just can't shift the way I used to on my old truck. Gotta get that accumulator bored out.

I was thinking about it last evening... but then I remembered the FUBAR Shellshock got himself into.. and how I need the truck to get to work.

Lol, Sunday night gives me no time to sort shit out.

Yes. The regime i am Trying to describe is very low rpm in 1st gear. For instance, once you get the truck moving and you are completely off the clutch and just trying to keep the truck crawling along at slow speeds. With 1.05 i could Crawl along in first and if i got to an incline i could Just add a little gas and keep the truck crawling along without stalling out or lurching forward.

With 2.0, if I’m completely off the clutch at low speeds/rpm and try to add just a little gas to keep it crawling along, the truck surges forward with the slightest pedal input.

This is only an issue at very low rpm when trying to creep along. I’ve only run into this when crawling along in stop and go traffic or trying to crawl along at slow speeds over loose terrain (tennis ball size rocks and sand)

Everything else about the tune is phenomenal

Even if it is FUBAR, you just gotta bleed until it comes back. Worse case is that it is an hour of pumping and some quality time with your helper.

Do you have tracking progress or is it still in the label created stage? If it is label created, @OVTune might be waiting on stock to arrive.

If you want to tune, we can meet up. Just bring along your tuning computer.

I had that on my first try of 1.05 FOB 87 and do not have that on 2.0 Beta 21175 even though some low end seems to have been added. What cleared it up on my second try of 1.05 FOB 87 was hitting the DTC and LV Resets in FM. You might want to give that a go? Do a 6min idle and see?

    I completely agree

I have a drainage lip at the end of my driveway and usually creep off of it and then give er gas down the street. I find that on 2.0 21175 the truck has an increased tendency to lurch at this low of speed. I have to slip the clutch after dropping the rear tires off the driveway and then get into first, as opposed to just staying in gear with 1.05.
