Downhill is all about gear ratio, gear selection, and engine braking.

    Bet you had fun!

Yeah, it was a good time! The truck actually crawls really well in 4lo, it was just a couple spots where there was an off camber drop with a turn that made the truck feel a bit tippy.

That's a big truck to be on that trail. I recognize that rock!

Went out hunting again last night and I killed a deer, but unfortunately it was with my truck...

Luckily it was pretty small so it didn't break too much more than the bumper cover and some tabs. Also hit it pretty solidly, so it died quickly and didn't suffer.

Initially wanted to, but upon finishing up with MHP and checking the deer out, it wouldn't have been any good. The only thing that possibly could've been salvaged was the left rear quarter, which would've been maybe 5 pounds of meat.

    Really considering it. Any suggestions?

Looked at CBI this morning but that was the only one I could remember off the top of my head.

I run a cbi that modified a little. They are probably the closest fab shop so you can pick up in Idaho. There are tons of companies. If I could redo I would probably go with brute force fab or relentless. There is also mobtown offroad, warn, allpro

I recommend Demello off-road. Erick @state48overland can hook you up!

Thanks for the recommendations! Right now I'm leaning towards Relentless for the 30" light mount over CBI's 20" mount.

Demello has the 30” cutout as well.

True, but I like the look of the Relentless a little better. Plus, between the comparable one's I'm looking at, Demello is $300 more...

Hey Montanans, I recently switched my Old Man Emu 885 springs out for 887 as I was trying to get away with stock UCAs with the 885, but need them anyways so I figured I’d switch my springs to what I really wanted, too. So, I’m trying to sell my 885 springs with about 6,200 miles on them. Asking $100. I’m near Missoula but will be up and down Highway 93 over the next few months from Whitefish to Salmon, ID and willing to meet up to get them sold. PM me if you or someone you know wants them. Thanks!

I've decided just to get everything repaired with OEM parts. Don't feel like messing with trying to source all the different parts I'd need to replace. I'd still need a new bumper cover since I can't salvage the one on the truck for an aftermarket bumper. Also busted one of the mounting tabs on the left headlight, so that'd be pricey to replace. Plan is to get that replaced through insurance, replace the factory headlights with the Morimoto XB headlights, and sell the factory lights.

This crossmember got bent (top center and right arrows) and I can't seem to figure out what exactly Toyota calls it, so that'd be fun to track down.

BAMF is making a 3rd Gen bumper now. Only good looking one out there IMO

Hit that sucker any faster and you might have lost the radiator.

I'm really glad I had my Pelfreybilt bumper last winter when I hit a deer on I90 at full speed.

If I had hit it at highway speeds, it's quite possible. Hit the deer coming back into GF going down the hill on 15th. I was at 45 when I hit the brakes just before impact, so I may have been doing 40 when I hit

I saw that little bambi lying on the side of the road right next to fleet supply last week, not much bigger than a German ShepardrpyqxrxKyMXHnavCpZzV.gif Sorry about your truck though.
