Unfortunately there is a flip side as well. My wife is a nurse at one of the outpatient offices in one of our larger hospitals. Can't tell you how many times she runs late because a patient is running 1/2 hour behind, call five minutes before their appt to say they will be a few minutes late....doctor waits and few minutes turns into twenty or thirty minutes, pushing everybody back.

At my Dr. office if you are 15 mins late you have to reschedule. I think you still get charged too. Needless to say, I’m never late cuz of this..... well, that and mostly my OCD. But whatever.

That's not how it should work at all... if patient is late they get moved to squeeze in status and you move on to other on time appointments. Everyone else should not be screwed for the day.
Normally I would say ok if it was a once or twice thing... but every appointment is the same. I get there on time, wait a hour past my appointment time to be taken in then wait another 45 for the doctor to come in.
Last time, the nurse came in after all that time to tell me, "oh, sorry the doctor was called away on other business, we'll have to reschedule you". Uh..... no, wtf!

Agreed. Unfortunately it's when the few minutes stretches into twenty or more...get a couple of those in a day and that's when shit goes south.

Thats why I always try to book my appts in the morning. Doc can't be late from lunch, and pt overruns can't stack up.

I usually try to book just before lunch, they will not be late for that. So you are bound to be seen if you schedule at 11 or 1130.
