I had the same issue with shifting. I had to take my Tacoma in for servicing, because my battery died! It was still under warrany, but they performed the rcall service on my pedal without me knowing and also flashed my ECM. After my ECM was reprogrammed I no longer had shifting lag on my 09 Dbl Cab Tacoma. Hope that helps you out. I also noticed a huge increase in horse power too!

Yes! I have to decide between arm comfort or leg comfort.

I only have two complaints with my truck.

    1) When I'm on long drives, the armrest is too low for my left elbow. Not a big deal.

    2) I wish I had bought 4x4. I didn't know I'd be moving to TX shortly after I bought it. My fault, not the truck's.

Other than that I am perfectly happy with it.

I don't like the way it shifts gears. The auto transmission goes into 5th. gear too soon. The engine lugs & cylinders ping. To avoid this, I have to downshift to 4th. gear for low speed/city driving. It's like driving a manual and going straight from 2nd. to 5th. gear. Does anyone else have this problem? I know there is a TSB for hard shifting, but mine doesn't shift hard. Will the TSB re-flash fix this problem too? Anybody have some insight on this problem?

Also, don't like that my access cab doors have no speakers.

The way-too-high idle speed when warming up after starting, especially on cool days. Don't know if this is a problem on anything other than 4 cyl standard trans, but it's aggravating for me, and apparently no fix for it.

It only idles high to get warmed up and then comes down to normal right? This is not a problem just your truck trying to get warm, how is this aggravating to you?

It idles at 2400rpm and sounds like a jet at lift off! That's too high, IMO. 14 or 15 hundred would be okay, but from all I can learn, there is no adjustment.

some of this, a little of that

That is just what it needs when it is warming up. If it bothers you that much put it in gear and drive it, should be warmed up in a couple of minutes.

no center arm rest in regular cab 4x4. why? just why? i tend to lean in a snow truck idk i drive a truck different than i drive a car. the bench seat should be 60/40 with an arm rest period. they need to fix this like now. other than that i freaking love it.

I love my Tacoma. Only thing I have noticed (which is a design flaw IMO) is that if you spill something in the door cupholder, it spills behind the door panel. Thus making you to have to pull the door panel off to clean. Glad its easy to get off though! :)

Only thing I don't like is the bed rails. When I strap my motorcycle down the bed rails flex. I keep thinking my bike will fall out of the truck on the freeway or street.
