The Ol lady wants to do some color runs this year and wants to go up to Gilpin lake but i told her its a hiking only trail and I ain't hiking 9 miles in and 9 miles out haha

So i am looking to make up a trip for next weekend that will include colors, which I know are barely just starting, but mostly looking for an awesome clear mountain lake to take her to. One where I don't have to hike 18 miles for one we could preferably drive close to and one that has camping on the same trail. Open to any suggestions.

Why yes, yes it is. Now with a healthy LS3 under the hood.

Looks like a great time! Truck did well.

There’s about 4 JKU’s I’ll wheel with because the Jeep is built right. Other than that, way to many long hours repairing frames, links, and everything else on the JKs. Fuck that.

    Stuff. Also things.
That pic of the SXS on the cryptobiotic soil makes me pretty fucking angry. Goddammit, I can’t stand ignorant people.

Freaking AWESOME pics of you guys on trail, though!

There was a flipped SXS at the wall. 16 yo driver, elderly passenger were bruised up but seemingly OK.

SZ and I went up the wall while KP took the bypass. (no pics). The rest of the trail was pretty uneventful but fun with perfect weather and not much traffic. I'm hurting for gears and a new clutch before my next big trip

It was a great day to be out and I'm glad that it wasn't busy beyond a couple other groups of 2-3 rigs.

I'm feeling old, my bad knee is cranky about all the clutching yesterday especially since I drove to/from the trail. That 1UZ/auto combo is seeming more and more like a good idea....

Yep, one of the guys with us was Dave with the black truck and trailer in the first pic. He had his jeep buggy out so we went back down so he could load it up rather than going down the back through Idaho Springs

Cool, I might have to give that a go next time I’m up there, I’ve only ran it as a once through uphill. Seems fun!

The trail is pretty fun both ways but I don't think I'd be brave enough to go down the wall :D

Did Red Cone -> Radical Hill -> Saints John on Sunday. Fall colors were barely beginning. Plenty of color on the drive out from Montezuma to Keystone.

Colors are starting to pop! Get out and enjoy the last of the high country wheeling season.

    Taylor pass earlier today.

I honestly don't think phone pics are that bad. I feel I've taken some great photos with mine and they now have the ability to capture in RAW so editing possibilities should be endless. Only thing it can't do is have an optical zoom.

Did a 700 mile shake down run with some Jeep friends. Ran awesome the entire time! FYI 3.4L, 4th gear, 5-6 psi and some 91 octane is radass going over the paved passes! .
