    Nice! Good luck.

One word of advice for the install.

The kit comes with (4) alcohol wipes for cleaning the inside of the window track where the adhesive tape is supposed to bond. The idea is you should use (1) wipe per window so they give you (4). Let me tell you, my tracks were so dirty that I used the wipes and also went with rubbing alcohol and a micro fiber towel to clean them, almost covered the entire towel in grime. Obviously the better you clean it, the better the adhesive tape will bond. Take your time and do it right.

Installed Spiker Engineering HIGH-LIFT Hood Struts
The install of these was super simple for those that are at all concerned. Took a little over half an hour even with a slight delay caused by using a shitty Harbor Freight Rivet gun.

First pic shows the massive amount of body filler goo that had to be removed for a flush passenger side install.

These are pics of the kit installed! Check out how high my hood opens!!

    Thanks a bunch @SpikerEng !!

Sweet build!!! Lots of great info. Ii just ordered the blinker lights and harness from Amazon. Thanks for the link. I'm going to look into the hood struts next.
I just moved to Phoenix so I was writing down the name of some of those nice trails.

Nice looking rig. I am down in Tucson. Been getting my truck slowly setup for overlanding and what not. My truck looks almost exactly like @xtremewlr 's truck.

Hopefully i can meet up with you guys one of these days!

1st Gens FTW!! Hope to meet you soon Lawrence.

The Tucson TW group kinda fell apart but I’d be down to schedule a meet and greet and talk truck stuff over some beers if you guys wanna get together. I’ll throw out a feeler in the Tucson Meet and greets and see what kind of response there is.

One major draw back to living in Southern Az is that there are rocks everywhere on the roads. The windshield lasted just under 2yrs. Hopefully the new one doesn’t get chipped on the way home.

    Shackle Install V2.0

This is a minor project but one I’ve been meaning to get back around to for a while now. It just makes sense to keep the shackles in place for a number of reasons. My #1 reason is that I’ve been carrying them around in my tool bag or parts box needlessly adding to the weight of these containers as I haul them around job sites.

So today I had a minute to fix the issue I’d had. While cruising down FS roads the vibration caused them to unscrew and fall out. Not wanting to lose one on the freeway I came up with a fix.

I wrapped each screw completely with thread tape. This tape should keep the shackle from unscrewing but obviously I’ll keep an eye on them and adjust as needed. The final mod to these will be to drill the screw and wire it to the attachment point.

I've needed to do this for a while but i finally got around to installing new grease fittings and then greasing my upper and lower control arm bushings. Should be ready for another few years of bashing.

I have been to table Messa area bunch of roads out there, my favorite was one called 9982 by the rock springs cafe, designated for narrow short wheel base.
I have also been to Sedona on Muds wagon trail Schnebly Hill Rd.
I will be working Saturday then wrenching Sunday but more exploration next weekend.

    Im always open to sugestions

If you guys head out that way let me know. I really like it out there too and it’s close to my path back and forth from TUC.

Did you have any trouble with the led bulb falling out of the rubber socket?

I’m using the same turn signal setup and I was having issues with that happening. I ended up fixing it by pinching the metal clamp that’s inside the socket so that it clamps down on the LED harder.
