That seems like the best option but I don't have a plasma to easily cut them off.

Grinder will get you close. I cut TC double shears off my 2nd gen with a grinder and large cutting disks on a dremel. It sucks, but it's doable. Are they just a single plate going up to the bolt? I forgot about the rear usually having more beef between the shock bucket and the double shear. Bottom line, it's only $100 or so for new double shears or you could fab some.

Yeah angle grinder would work but it would take a while.
No they are also welded to the coil bucket.
I need new bushings anyway so I may look into the parts to just go heims for the adjustability.

If you can fab arms with heims, I don't see an issue - thinking more about removing the double shears, you could just cut the plates that have the bolt holes and leave the rest - just connect the new plates you make to whatever's left.

Converting to heims is definitely better, if you have the ability.

Seriously considering some myself. Just finishing some other work before I jump into hydro bumps though.

I'll see if I can dig up some reviews though.

Someone please tell me I'm an idiot -- is it normal/right for the shocks to be at that severe of an angle (not in line with the axle movement vector)?]

10* +/- full bump is a good estimate

They did have to be slanted towards the cab because I had to go with 18”. Under a deadline and that’s all I could find in a type 1 bypass. I trust the shop doing the work, and they have been in contact with Tim @ DMZ while doing the rear. So fingers crossed

Edit. Bypass style 1 not 2

Cool! I don't doubt you or the shop, just curious. I was under the impression that it was best to have the shocks as in line with the direction of travel, but I also know LT throws some stuff out the window.

Stoked to see it all together though!
