I had this. Made a post about putting washers in there to space the supports down a half inch or so. I’ll see if I can find it.

    Found it: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fox-2-5-tips.542669/page-4#post-17637136

Edit: I guess that didn’t really help other than yeah, it could be your sway bar. Just delete the sway, go to an aftermarket skid
    Or do the spacers.

    I did all three. :anonymous:

Sorry I know this post is 5 months old but did anyone clarify if the front CO specs sound correct ? I have almost exactly the same specs for lift height and threads on CO for preload. Difference is I have part # 883-02-025. Trying to decide if this is too much. Wondering if I should consider 14” 600lb coils ? TIA

Is there physical evidence of sway bar contact (I can't see your pictures)? if not, have you checked the nitrogen pressure in the reservoir? I chase a ghost clunk for months, twice. I removed the sway bar, retorqued every bolt in the front suspension and steering, replaced a lower ball joint, had icon replace the UCA and delta joint, and even replaced the steering rack. Both times it was the right shock. Once, a shock internal failure, and most recently 0 PSI in the resi.

The shock was the last thing I expected. The truck felt fine and the suspension appeared to be working well except for quick hits like square edge bumps and potholes.

It appears that clicker setting are not universal. Yesterday I had an alignment, adding some caster to clear a minor rub with the new 275s. Before the alignment 1 click closed of LS and 5 clicks closed on the HS was perfect. After the alignment, the front end felt harsh. I understand that positive caster can increase bump steer, but didn’t realize that I’d have to set my clickers again.

Adding 2 clicks closed of HS seems to have reduced most of the harshness. Now on to the LS settings.

P.S I wish we were able to independently change rebound settings. However, because we cannot, softer settings don’t always result in a smoother ride since it appears the rebound circuit and compression circuit are directly proportional. When in doubt, always add a few clicks when dealing with a harsh (not to be confused with stiff) ride.

@AccuTune Offroad Any validity to my observation?

Yes. You’re right. When you change the angle, in this case changing caster, you change the amount of force applied to the coil over and other suspension components. It will defenitely affect how the system feels.

thanks. When you were replying i was getting an email back from Fox also. they are aware and making notes to the kit for future buyers. I will be adding the spacers or getting aftermarket skid plate. kinda stoked for a reason to "must have" aftermarket skids" haha

Hey guys, in the process of rebuilding lower bearing assembly and I heard that fox now makes a new spacer that has a channel for an O-ring to prevent shit from getting in the bearing. The problem I'm having is figuring out if it would work on my coilover. I have contacted both Fox and Kartek in an effort to figure out wtf is the deal. Fox said these O-ring spacers aren't for my CO but Kartek seems to think differently. Has anyone seen these? Should I just use the old style spacer and avoid the hassle? I'm very annoyed that no one seems to have answers.

I've searched and read through this thread quite a bit, so apologies if my post already has answers..

I installed fox 2.5 extended travel coilovers last week, and yield about 1" lift from factory setting, around 22" middle of hub to bottom of fendwr. Factory settings are around 27 threads showing. I had to crank driver side another 4 turns to counter the lean.

From searching it sounds like my extended travel coilovers were set to max preload out of the box. I was hoping to gain 1.5" up front to end up with a 0.5" rake with the 1" lift block I have in the rear.

I fear sag when I install my sliders. I don't feel safe cranking these 13" springs anymore.

Is this normal to see 2.5 extended travel coilovers set to 27 threads out of the box and only yeild around 1"? Am I stuck at this setting? Would 14" 600lb springs be a better choice?

Edit: I haven't tweaked alignment yet. Will I see more lift with correct alignment specs?

Edit: 2018 double cab OR only added weight is aluminum IFS skid

    Thanks in advance

-What is the eye to eye length of the coilover sitting at ride height?
-What additional weight do you have added to the front of the truck?
-Do you have an exact part number to reference for those front coilovers?

I just took some measurements on not so level ground where it's parked

Passenger side measurements w/ factory preset preload -
    Eyelet to eyelet 21.25"
    Hub to fender 21.5"

I will have to pull it into my shop where I have a level area to get more accurate measurements. But it seems the springs are already sagging after a few days on the truck.

    Part # 883-02-025

No additional weight besides an aluminum IFP skid

The max length we recommend is 21" eye to eye. Any further and you will compromise ride quality due to the shock topping out. Those coilover specs show 22.520" at full extension. A longer spring wont help, since the length/height of the coilover is already maxed.
    Is the Truck a TRD?

This is where confusion sets in when other say they can yield 23" hub to fender with this coilover on a mostly stock truck.

I haven't measured, but when I jack up truck there is plenty of droop. I'm not bottoming out, even with driver coil cranked down another 4 turns, it rides great even with wacky alignment.

I'm hoping to make alignment adjustments tomorrow night. I will report back if my measurements change.
    Thanks!

Thanks for sharing! What kind of discount were you getting with the expired code? This site seems to offer some really good deals. What's the catch?
