Until recently I was a truck driver. I've logged over 1 million miles for 3 different companies in 5 years.

Yeah, the last outfit I worked for is a large corporation.

And yeah, the guys at the top are rich.

But they didn't hire me out of the kindness or size of their wallets. They hired me because there was work to be done that they could not do themselves.

There was work to be done when I was hired because there was work for the trucks to do - freight to be hauled. There was freight for the trucks to haul because the little people were working.

I've pulled shitloads of trailers hauling anything from food, manure, hay bails, furniture, cows, rocks, shingles, bleach, steel, cars, machinery, milk, septic tanks and shit, cement, gas, CO2, asphalt, books, other trucks, trees, etc.

I've worked on exactly zero trucks hauling fucking tax breaks.

Certainly possible, but I doubt the Schneider's are part of the 1% elite. Regardless, company tax breaks and tax breaks for personal revenue are two completely different things, IMO.

Those rich guys pay more taxes today, yesterday, the day before.... They are what we call highly motivated guys. If it wasn't for these highly motivated and people that can beleive way past their own reality... well, we would be living in a county with far less blessings and less opportunity.

These highly motivated guys, more often than not, deserve what they get. The nice thing is that if we are so inclined, we can do most the same... Look at all the high school drop outs that make 7 figure salaries - there are more of them then you might realize.

One other thing... the type of fiscal environment we create affects these guys - I know a few that have decided to spend time with their family and do things that they love instead of deploying their brains in growing businesses - they don't like all of the fiscal uncertainly.

Blame them as much as you like but they feed, or deny, this economy more than you may realize.

Chose what to believe but the founders and owners of these companies have a different view....

What do you think Christopher Lofgren talks about at the country club? What do you think his compensation is?

It is true that the company did not hire you out of any form of charity. Ey hired you, as they thought you were the best candidate for the job that they needed done.

It is that rich person who made the company, marketed it succesfully to earn freighht contracts, bought the truck, and selected you out of several applicants to drive it.

Get back to me when a janitor starts handing you a paycheck.

I'm certainly not rich, but when is it enough...as far as taxes paid by the rich? It's always easier to say the "rich" don't need tax cuts because most of us do not fall into this category. However the less they pay in taxes, the more their businesses can grow and the more people they can hire. A tax increase (like Obamacare, cap n trade, etc) of any kind during an economy like this one is beyond stupid.

A flat tax is the only fair way to tax. Then we would not need the 10's of thousands of IRS agents as well.

Woot! In before the thread gets locked!!!! Oh, by the way. Couple of the other guys were right. The top 3% percent pay 1/2 the countries taxes. Look into Reagonomics and you'll see how it all works when done right.

The top 1% (3%?) pay half of all taxes because they make more than half of the income!

And ANY tax break you give to the uber rich is just going into their pocket, not used for hiring or filtering down to the rest of us.

Why should the wealthy be punished for being successful? If they keep getting more and more taxes, that makes me not want to succeed and maintain status quo.

That's not to say the less wealthy should be taxed more. But those top earning people already pay half of the taxes in this country.

Not to start a class warfare battle on this but how many of those highly motivated individuals or thier family members go to fight our wars? Not many and why do these top 1% rich folks never do hard time time in jail or are let out of jail prematurely when they commit the same crime as the rest of the population, look at Paris Hilton caught with Cocaine and didnt serve 1 day,if that was me Id be locked up for a while. If they do pay all the Taxes and we (Middle class) pay less they shouldnt get additional Benes for being Rich that we dont on top of it.:crapstorm:Power to the People

With our taxes bound to go up and medicare reimbursements being cut by almost 30%, ask my wife why she WONT be hiring another nurse for her practice anytime soon. We are not rich, we live a little below our means but we also save as much as we can for retirement. We give to our church and other charities and after the bills are paid we may have enough left to take the kids to a movie or out to dinner. Most people have a lifestyle that fits their means, we don't live extravagantly but I guess we are still expected to give more and sit back and be quiet about it......Pffffffft!

The rich man is always going to get his money regardless of the taxes he pays. You can raise his taxes to 75% if you want, but the rich man does not care. To offset the extra taxes he hires less, pays less, and increases prices, so that he still makes the same amount of money. These extra taxes always get filtered down to the working stiffs like me.

I certainly see no benefits from any taxes that I pay. Our military is way underfunded, and Obama is selling military tech to the enemy. Offshore drilling is banned unless you are Mexico, then you get drilling money from Obama. Here in New Orleans the public schools are so horrible that I will have to send my son to a private Catholic school so he can learn to add & subtract. The cops are guilty of as much crime as the criminals, and the roads are so bad that in places you need a 6 inch lift just to get down the block or pull in a driveway.
