Got my electrical system squared away. Dual battery, secondary fuse panel, compressor, and light bar.

 

you can say "I have presta valves" and sound cool.

idk really, I just know most bikes come with presta now. faster I guess?

 

Got my spindles sold and shipped out today. Yay for getting some money back after everything I just spent! Didn't realize how popular those things were. Had multiple offers for asking price within 24 hours.

Presta valves are easier to pump than Schrader, because they have no valve spring to overcome. ... In narrow rims, clincher tires also leave insufficient space between tire beads for larger Schrader valves. In contrast, Schrader valves are more robust, universally used, and have an easily removable core.

 

haha I don't disagree, even what Wes just posted. Schrader seem stronger to me...but what do I know?

There's more moving parts to a Schrader valve with the spring and all that stuff. Presta valves, you know when they're sealed because you tighten the nut on top and there's no spring to rely on.

Granted, I prefer dealing with Schrader valves because they're everywhere. But you won't find them on any expensive mountain bike.

 

Depends on if the hole in the rim is big enough. That's really the only factor.

EDIT: only factor for mountain bikes. Road bikes, the rim just isn't wide enough.

DONE! No more block lift and got the flip kit on. Still have to cut down the u bolts but I’ll save that for next set of off days. I had to get back up running and driving. After cleaning and living the squeak is down to about 20% of what it was and I’m satisfied with that. I didn’t replace the bushings bc I just didn’t have the time and honestly didn’t want to have to if a good clean and grease was gonna help it.


Truck sits a half inch higher in the rear now and just around 2 inches of lift...I need to tack my eibachs up a notch or 2. The lift in the front decreased once the bumper and winch went on anyways and I need to level it out a bit. Will help with tire clearance up front as well.

 

I lied it’s still squeaking like a son of a gun...

 

Did you do the Fluid Film? That stuff has kept the squeeks away, even on my my 2nd gen with 300K miles on it.

 

Yup. All between the leafs before assembling them back and even again before tightening them up

 

Maybe it’s the rubber bushings...so frustrating

 

so why do all MTBs come with presta lol
