Keep it all here, it’s still part of the build as far as I’m concerned

New seal tape arrived early so I installed it yesterday while it was sunny. Good timing as today it's rainy...it'll be a good test to see if it works better. The door has bowed out at the top and bottom presumably from all the material I had to take out of the middle for the door latch. That may make it nearly impossible to seal. May have to brace the door flat again if possible or replace it completely with a premade solution.

Original bulb seal on the left and additional ribbed seal on the right. Fingers crossed.

It rained quite a bit yesterday but I didn't drive it at high speed or much at all so it's a limited test. Opened it up this morning at work and it was dry! Not considering this solved yet but it's a really good sign. Especially since it would have a small puddle inside if it rained much at all with the truck just sitting there before adding more seal tape.

Here's a bone for the wolves

    Capture.jpg

Starting the work to design the kitchen box interior. So far I have a rough estimate of the box and a blob that represents my Coleman two burner stove. This will allow me to try some fold out options and check the counter height on the truck without having to physically mock up a bunch of stuff. Super helpful as we're moving into rainy season here. I won't likely get too detailed with this model: I don't plan to model salt and pepper grinders and forks and all that jazz. Just the main critical components. But it all depends on how much fun I end up having in CAD.

So many things to consider! Sink? Stove, utensils, paper towels, towels, spices, cookwear, cups! But that's the fun part. Make it all fit. There's just two of us so we don't need a ton of stuff but the packaging of it all is a good challenge

I can do it! Screws and washers too, I suppose? Maybe plywood plies and grain direction?

Not too many bits and bobs to screw with so that's cool.

Now it's time to start mounting components and working out the wiring.

Not the update you wanted but the update you're getting: I've ordered a few bits and pieces for the camper/flatbed and plan to start on the electrical stuff now that a different big project phase is wrapped up.

    IMG_20190930_191158_232.jpg
Finally got the last bit of decking done. It's fully functional. There are planters to design and build, a walkway to finish up and a pad for the BBQ to build but those can take months if necessary. Right now, it's back to camper work!

    Got some work done!

    IMG_20191001_173925.jpg
    Holes and rings

    IMG_20191001_175644.jpg
Epoxy around the inside of the hole

    IMG_20191001_175705.jpg
    Slide ring into hole

    IMG_20191001_175823.jpg
Tape over whole mess to keep it together until it cures

    IMG_20191001_175927.jpg
All 5 done and not much mess to clean up.

I'll clean up whatever cured epoxy went where I didn't want it tomorrow.
