Raises the air intake out of the fender. Prevents sucking water up the intake and dust

Front and Rear Locked, 35’s, Chevy 63” swap, Fox Suspension and a bunch of other shit too long to list.
I went to 275/80/17 and needed to make room underneath. So I gutted my fender liners and I’m trimming up my flares.

Jigsaw saw works too, hole saw not required. Step bits did come in handy.

Just as a side note, (as it is mentioned in the install instructions) you may choose to seal the 3 airbox drain holes with sealant to ensure a completely water tight intake. If you leave these open, this leaves a path airbox high that can allow water in.

Also still enjoying mine, its gave me a lot of peace of mind this year with all the rain we've had trying to get out to our property. Although its only been through top of the tire height water and my wheel bearings and everything else I'm sure are paying for it but at least my engine is intact. :)

For those who have the snorkel installed, do y’all have a large gap in the back Like I do? I feel like the snorkel is mounted too low messing up how it fits against the body

In the pic above you can see part of the snorkel resting on the top of the fender. No matter how hard I push, I cannot get the snorkel to mount flush against the A pillar.

Real men improvise with tin snips when your buddy that "totally has a hole saw kit" cant find it. Looks like a small animal chewed it's way out of my fender before I cleaned it up.

It’s been bugging me lately. Really wish the gap was either smaller or that the A pillar mount was at least flush with the A pillar

Mine is essentially the same. The cardboard template isn't the most accurate thing in the world. It gets you like 90% there. I ended up opening the holes the studs go through just slightly larger then recommended that way I could get some movement with the snorkel which let me correct the issue a bit.

I did the same, but I don’t want to widen them any more. I’ve already widened them to 1/2” I probably could widen them some more and adjust it, but it’s a pain in the ass and I don’t have the time to pull the snorkel off and reinstall it with hopes of better fitment

The instructions/template say you're to make those holes 16mm, which is about 5/8". I'm guessing that's the problem you guys are seeing, without some wiggle room, it's getting caught up in those holes and causing it to not sit against the body properly.

Yep, mine is identical. My buddies 4runner snorkel fits like a glove compared to the 3 Tacomas we installed on.

Did you ever get the fitment issue resolved? I'm looking around at snorkels and have been eyeing this one specifically because price point.

Not yet. Haven’t had the time. In all honesty though, i wish I had spent the extra money and gone with the safari snorkel. the safari fits much better, but for the price point the dobinson's works just as it should.

I'd try tweaking the bolt hole size, as the manufacturer took the time to mentioned, before claiming something else "fits better".

I wasn't sure how to say that without coming off as a d*ck, so I just said it. No d*ck-ness intended.
