The truck is now in SC. It originated in NE. I know that there is some rust I was referring to the frame near the rear tire.....

gotcha, I misunderstood here I assumed the car was still in Nebraska and you where considering traveling to get it therefore the worries and risk of traveling far for a used vehicle
yea man I hear you and agree, I flew from NY to Tulsa to pick up my tacoma because I wanted the manual 6 speed in spruce mica.
multiple local dealerships laughed at me when I went in looking for this specific truck "good luck you wont find one" "can only order one new for such a specific vehicle"

having the funds ready in hand and enough time waiting and searching, you will find the perfect truck. toyota made a lot of these and the manuals are out there, more than people realize imho

stay on the hunt, a lot of 05-10 tacomas are out there for sale right now with brand new freshly swapped frames, there will most certainly be a few manuals in that group.

I'm just wondering where you guys are finding all these 4 door manuals at this price point. The two others I called about... I got laughed at for a better price.

One was a 2010 w 119 on the clock and the other already sold. It was an 09 whith 140k

2010 is 18k and the 09 was listed for same price

Hope the engine and frame gets a good cleaning before you go look at it. Looks to likely spent offroading in SC in mud which appears to make the frame look more rusted than actual. You can see the the same layer of dirt in the engine bay on the hoses. OP, bring a screwdriver to poke around the frame to see if its surface rust and I would also pull the air filter to see if it's caked with dirt. I always suggest to bring a code reader when car searching, especially on used vehicles with no warranty. It already has a TPMS light on, you don't need more surprises. Heck, I even pulled a spark plug when I bought mine.

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
Last year I bought my first taco. 2008. 171K. 4.0 access cab 4x4.
It had just had factory frame and all that goes with it. One owner. $12000. I love this thing.

Now $12,000 for that seems a lot more reasonable for a buying price. don't confuse asking & buying. If the $16,000 can come down closer to $12,000, this would be way more in line. The difference in 135K & 170K is barely worth mentioning.

35000 miles on a vehicle is almost 4 years of driving in the eyes of the market. Some people dont care about that but I do. 136 on an 07 is damn good IMO.
