265s and spacer?

I have the 1.25" spacers with stock tires on 19 TRD OR. If you were to take a plum bob and drop it straight down the side of the flare, it would hit exactly on the outside of the tread. So the tire does stick out slightly. It just fills out the wheel well better IMO. I would prefer to have an aftermarket wheel and remove the second piece, but for daily driving and the load I am putting on the truck, I sleep well at night. YMMV.

 

IMO Better off with a cheap set of wheels with wider offset. I got my pro comps for like $400 out the door. Spacers are ok and 99% safe. I wouldn't risk it though.

 

This is why I’m holding off on spacers. $250 for spacers and selling your factory wheels for +-$350, you will come out ahead in most cases buying a cheaper wheel.

But if you like the factory wheels, go for it. As long as you don’t buy the cheapo EBay or Amazon spacers I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

 

Good point there. I sold my factory OR wheels and tires for $450. Could have gotten more.

 

Running spacers is fine if you use from a reputable brand. Do not buy cheap spacers or you might find your wheel rolling down the highway. Seen a few incidents on the forums here so far. Make sure you install anti-seize when you put them on or it's a pain in the butt to take them off. Some people have said that it can cause wheel bearing wear over time, but I have yet to see anyone with actually data or instances of that.
