If that's the one I think it is, check the threads to make sure it doesn't bottom out before tightening. I think on that one I ended up taking an OEM bolt and chopping it shorter instead of grinding the case to fit a provided bolt.

You're suppose to use 2 stud and 2 nut on the lower portion of the tcase instead of the 2 factory bolt.

Circle in yellow are the 2 stud replacement

If he's got the same set up as me (2nd gen AT v6) it only comes with 1 stud from Marlin, one of the other bolts doesn't quite fit right

Hmmm...this wasnt in my bag of parts. I have a bag of nuts and bolts that are too big to fit in anything...not sure what they are for but nothing that bag looks like what you circled.

    Yours came with directions?!

I noticed that bolts were bottoming out a few weeks ago when I was test fitting so I bought all new m8x1.25x40 bolts all around.

Thanks guys! I got it together by grinding...now I just gotta carry this pig downstairs and throw it in. Easy peasy.

Yeah you'd think with all the promoting he's been doing for 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas they could provide a basic set of instructions, do's and dont's and what nots. I'm perfectly capable of figuring shit out, but don't want to miss something and have to redo shit later......which definitely happened to me, multiple times.

Welp...might have miscalculated on the length of the spline coupler. When fully seated in the trans, it's almost head even with the tail housing.
    20190924_204742.jpg

The total spline input on the marlin gears does not go all the way to the adapter plate. There is about 1/2 difference.

    20190924_204806.jpg

Thinking if I bevel this edge I can get it to seat a little deeper as there is a flare in the trans output. I would also have to shorten the adapter...there is a little extra depth for me to be able to do that.

    20190924_205442.jpg

    So I just took the grinder to a $2200 part...why not a $600 part?

Yea I'm pretty bummed at the moment. This is exactly what I was afraid of and trying to avoid in the design. But this is a prototype after all. I'm glad they only made 2 so far and not the 5 I ordered

What's y'all's approach to cutting for the shifters?

What's the best approach to making sure you're lined up properly?

I was planning to put the box in, sharpie above the shifter links area, remove box, and then starting a small cut, then putting the box back on and cutting from above. Or is that dumb?

I think this will work. I beveled the outside edge to settle a little deeper into the bevel on the input shaft.

I also beveled the inside of the 23 spine side to accept the input shaft of the crawl box just a little deeper. Tought this was preferable to cutting.
