Erm, how does one know if injectors are bad?

 

If the plugs dry vs the other plugs.



Or if it’s leaking fuel and causing a rough start after sitting

 

Hmmm, ima have to check that out next time I go home.


The 99 gets shit mileage lately

 

If you have a issue of it Dumping fuel you’ll get a rich code. Your probably getting shitty mileage from something rlse

 

I was gonna do coils, plugs, wires, air filter and clean the maf next

 

I have a P0172 rich CEL, it's running rough, and it's not the MAF or charcoal canister.

Only way to know is to check plugs, pull injectors and have them tested

 

start with the MAF. could also be a A/F sensor starting to go. (inaccurate readings) if you can get a data view from a scan tool watch the fuel trims. positive is adding fuel negative is pulling fuel

 

the 0172 on the 4runner i did was from the ebay injectors

 

Probably be a good thing to get a scan gauge anyway

 

Mine has Denso injectors and they have about 155k mi on them. Not ruling out them being bad though

 

pull them and send them to a shop that deals with injectors.. they can clean them and check the flow.
