I figured I'd start the regional thread about the new 2020, where Canadians can share their experiences ordering and receiving their new rides.

 

I will start..


I put down a 2k deposit on a DC TRD Off Road in Quicksand on April 30th. I changed my order on Tuesday (as soon as the online configurator was available) and added the premium package.
The ETA of my 2020 4X4QSDC6ASBTRDOR is End of October.

The $3k premium package in Canada includes

• Power tilt/slide Moonroof
• Wireless Charging
• Blind Spot Monitor System
• Multi Terrain View Monitor
• Leather Seats

Which makes it a $55k+ (Canadian Dollarettes, taxes in) truck (which is about $41,500 in US$)

6 months has been a long wait. I could no longer wait, so I ordered a Truxedo Tonneau Cover on Amazon yesterday, my first 'mod'.

I ordered my truck at Tony Graham in Ottawa and will be paying cash, no trade in.

Negotiations took place back ik April and were based on the 2019's.
I have yet to find out what the final price for the 2020 with premium will be. The general manager is a personal friend so I know he will be fair.

 

ill have to swing by Tony Graham. Looking for a manual TRD Sport or possibly TRD Pro (undecided so far). I went to Bel-Air and they weren't helpful at all, told me to come back another time when they have more information.

They don't have many manuals in stock, if any. But I did see a couple of 2019 white TRD pro's and even one discounted black 2018 TRD pro without the silly air intake.
You realize that the TRD Sport only come in Long box and the TRD Pro only comes in a short box right?

 

The Manual TRD Sport is short box, same as the TRD Pro's.

I think it is totally weird how these combo's are packaged.
The auto TRD pro is an Off Road with a Pro package. But a manual TRD pro is considered Sport with a Pro package, but with off road fender flares and such. Wait, what?

 

Yep, and you can only order it one way if you want TRD Sport... and a manual. No "cheaper" base option without all the Premium package stuff...

 

yep, the Canadian tacoma packages are wack. Ideally i want a TRD OR manual DCSB but its not available here.

I'm happy that they at least offer a premium package with leather on the OR, which was not possible on the '19s. Now I pretty much was able to order it exactly the way I want it.
Too bad Led headlights are not an option.

 

Yes, I know right. I will let you know when mine comes it. I was early with my order so it will be one of the first ones here.

 

I’m excited for the 2020 OR as I was close to making a deal on a 19. Happy about updated head unit with apple & android as well as power seat. VERY disappointed that LED headlights only available on PRO in Canada. At least we don’t get chrome tail lights for OR in Canada. I’ll be trading or selling my 16 Colorado Z71.

Are you sure that we don't get the chrome tail lights? I sure do hope you are right.
And I was thinking about those led headlights. It is weird that it is not even an option. Could it be that this LED's emit less heat and are not as good at getting rid of the snow/ice buildup? I read this somewhere. It does not explain why the Ltd and Pro do have them though.
I was on the fence between the OR and a Pro and test drove both (2019's). The OR was a much better drive and my wife agreed. And you don't get a fake hood scoop.

 

Sorry you are correct guru. I was sure I saw gallery photos or a line on the spec sheet with no chrome tails on the OR but after further review I was mistaken. Dang!

 

Ah chucks!, You made me hopeful for just a short moment. At least it's an easy swap if I can't stomach the chrome. We will see once it is parked in front of the house.

 

Hi guys, I ordered my silver Limited on sept 23’rd from George Jackson Toyota located near Renfrew Ontario. I sold my trusty ol’ 2008 Tundra last weekend and will miss it however I’m looking forward to owning my new truck...I wish it would get here!
