We're talking about factory here, not some company that does conversions. By your estimation, you can get almost anything you want if you feel like spending the coin.
In fact, a few months ago I saw a Jeep wrangler converted to a 6x6...also a waste of money and defeats the purpose of having a Jeep...the 4 door wranglers are almost too long for what a Jeep truly is...

LOL there is no comparison really. Tacoma FTMW! Heeps design is not unique in fact its old and washed up. You prolly blend right in if you drive it back in the 1920's

That’s very true but it’s kind of comparing apples and oranges anyway. People that by jeep or Tacoma are usually pretty passionate about their choice so you’re never going to get any kind of honest comparison on here. It also depends on what qualities of each vehicle you are comparing. with a jeep you get a solid front axle locking differentials more options that are geared towards off-roading from the factory But in the long term I think you will always have more problems with the jeep then you will with the Toyota

It’s pretty easy to say you want “better” this or that. Anything can be “better”. A lot of what you motioned can be had with a full sized truck. If you want a Mid sized truck, I don’t think you can do “better” than the taco as it currently stands at this present time. Can it be improved? Of course, anything can. But you can say that about literally anything.

Toyota will continue to improve the truck. That’s how they’ve been so successful all these years and why they are the #1 selling mid sized truck on the market.

For my part, I’d love to see the OR come standard with 33” AT’s or MT’s that will fit without trimming, and solid front and rear axles and lockers. I like that they now have powers seats.

The tranny on my ‘19 is fine. No complaints at all about shifting. And as far as the mpg’s go, it is a Prius compared to my Tundra so I’m not complaining about that. It is a 4x4 truck so I don’t expect it to be comparable to compact car.

No I don’t. Features are nice when they work properly. I don’t trust in their (Jeep’s) ability to build anything without issues further on down the road.

That’s a pretty sweet looking rig.

I’ll say it again for the record. I actually like the Gladiator and wish it was on par with Toyota reliability. If it was I’d own one.

Ohh I don't accept the status quo therefore I bought the wrong vehicle? I bought the best vehicle I could at the time. I don't want to keep buying the same thing, if Toyota has no competition that's all we'll ever get.

Jessica Alba is real easy on the eyes, but she looks like a lot of other pretty actresses. Just like the Tacoma looks like its competition. Nothing wrong with that, but it does look a lot like every other truck on the road. (true story - walking through the parking lot and my non-car person wife sees a Ridgeline and asks "is that the new Tacoma?" She later sees a Gladiator and instantly comments on the new Jeep truck.)

I'm in IT and I love it when the users push for something better, improve what is already damn good, move the bar to a higher level. It's not my job to figure out how to do "better" anymore than it is my users job to improve their IT systems. I want better, cheaper, faster, etc, etc, etc, and I am unapologetic about demanding continuous improvement in the things I buy.

As a former Wrangler owner who switched camps to Tacoma, I'll say this: I'll consider a Wrangler/Gladiator only if Toyota buys them from Fiat.

I think every Toyota truck owner has the same feeling about the Wrangler and Gladiator. If only they were manufactured by Toyota.

I like the Gladiator, but the problem with FCA, GM, and Ford is that their full size trucks are so much better than their mid-size offerings in just about every way. If i'm going with a truck from FCA, i'm going Ram 1500 with the 5.7L.
