Memphis area has a lot of aircraft and medical stuff. UPS and FedEx hubs at main airport. Navy base with airport in suburb (Millington). Number of hospitals and medical device companies plus crapton of other doctors offices, outpatient centers, surgical centers, etc.

I'm not a huge fan of memphis but i've hung around 10 years so far anyway. Terrain is flat and boring but location makes weekend trips to the hills of Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, or east TN easy enough.

Edit: west TN and east TN may as well be different states. For Memphis area, if you have kids, some schools suck horribly, some are ok, and private ones are really expensive. General cost of living pretty cheap statewide but each bigger city has a few small expensive pockets scattered.

A bunch of us live around Nashville. It’s nice enough, but slam packed with people. Traffic sucks, but there’s a ton of big hospitals downtown. Large airport that is outside of Nashville in donelson. Wilson county has an incredible school system.

Personally, I’d move to the Knoxville area. Close to the mountains, and it’s much less crowded than Nashville. School systems are pretty good, especially in west Knox. They have UT med and a couple of other pretty big hospitals. There’s a smaller airport south in Alcoa, which is 30 minutes at most from anywhere in The knoxville area. Alcoa and maryville are really nice areas too.

No matter where you go in TN, your cost of living will be way less than Cali. It’s hot as fuck in the summers and cold as fuck in the winters. Allergies in Nashville are terrible. If you don’t have them, you will. I have terrible allergies, but didn’t have any symptoms in Knoxville.

Why are you interested in Tennessee? I'm in Knoxville, East Tennessee and consider it extremely underrated. Low population density, cheap costs of living, and plentiful natural resources that aren't spoiled by excess traffic like is occuring out West. The majority of jobs are production-based but there is a trend of hospitality growing on this side of the state. Basically West, Mid, and East Tennessee are all totally different. What are you all looking for?

I got a new number. I thought I sent it to most people I talk to, but apparently I did a terrible job of that. Everybody I text responds "who's this?".

Anyway, PM me if you need my number.

Yeah I seen that. Cool, well I’ve got the needle bearing issue and I’m gonna have to do it sometime soon. It’s kinda worrying me when I tow my bullet bass boat but I’ve never heard of any catastrophic failure with these. Sooo idk. Once I get it done which I have no idea when that will be, I’ll holler at ya.

I did once. We liked it and will go again sometime. Only fished river, not lake. Ate at the marinas. One was really good but both kinda pricey. Didnt catch many fish. Seemed like high pressure area. Lots of inconsiderate fukers in kayaks going through too. Still enjoyed it. Water level changes quickly and drastically if they open/close gates in dam so be careful about that if you go to the river.

A few. I think. But i might be remembering a different spot. Nothing impressive either way. Did see a lot of small rainbow trout right below the dam when the water was low.

    edit: added pics.

    Yes. Food is good.

Stick around. It's not like Southhaven is that far from all the other Memphis suburbs.

Depends on your fishing background. Center hill is a pretty clear lake with a lot of rock. Typically on that lake you have to fish deep around 10-30’ to have solid numbers for bass but again, depends on the species your fishing for. Fish are in a fall transition so they will be schooling on baitfish or crawdads right now because crawdads are starting to molt this time of the year.
