I've dug through many of the running board posts, but I couldn't find exactly what I'm looking to learn. I just pulled the trigger and put a deposit on a 2020 voodoo blue DCSB TRD Sport. I like the look of the black tube style running boards from Toyota. But $650 to get them from the dealer and have them install them is crazy. Should I buy them from Toyota and install myself? Are there other, similar aftermarket options?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but running boards are stupid simple to install, right? Just bolt on.

Yes, they just bolt on. The holes are already predrilled under the truck. I found this out after I bought my truck and had the dealer install the running boards. I think I paid about $125 for the installation, and although I am glad I did it because that way I didn't have to hassle with it, when I saw how easy it was to install them, I feel like I was ripped off on the installation price. I got the black tubular running boards myself...

Ouch, yea that was probably just an hourly flat rate and it probably only took them 15 minutes. Took me 25 minutes to do myself using a cardboard box as support.
