Also, its running super lean because of the new exhaust I put on. It hasn’t been driven enough to learn yet.

So the check engine light came on, while on my way to the town i took it to get inspected in.

Hahaha i'm pretty sure we didn't fuck it up on the install, I think its probably just that it's a shitty autozone brand seal. I bought an OEM one to put in when I feel like doin it. But that probably won't be soon because it literally hasnt even dripped onto the ground or anything. Just a tiny droplet that keeps forming every couple days, so i'm not worried about it at all mane.

I'm actually pretty stoked that the noise/ vibration that I initially thought was the needle bearing (ended up being wheel bearing) is fixed. Replaced my hubs and rotors over the weekend :)

That blows ass. Sounds like something that would happen to me

MVA has been like that for many years. They close the doors at 4:30 and finish the customers that are already inside & have a ticket with a number.

How come you didn’t do the seal when you had things apart? :anonymous:

Also, what pads/rotors you go with?

My argument there is, when i need to get to work, to make the money to pay their fucking bullshit fees, i’ll just drive whatever i want, however i want. Because “its 4:30, we’re closed” is not a response i’ll ever be willing to accept.

The state acts like they’re fucking broke but they keep taking more and more. Sounds to me lke someone isn’t running this business properly; and yes, each state is essentially a business reporting to the larger business that is this Country.

I wouldn't be so mad about paying taxes if our roads and other infrastructure that the govs are responsible for were in better shape.

For you Southern MD peeps: I want to let you know about a good experience with my local trailer store. Centerville trailer parts is right in town by me. I had a bearing blow on my boat trailer back in April. I got the parts locally from this store, installed, and put about 50 miles on the new bearing before I noticed it was blown the other day. I took some old races to match sizes so I could buy a new bearing kit. After talking with the store clerk for a bit he just handed over the new parts I needed and told me that customer service is very important to them. He said the bearing could've been bad or a bunch of other things, but it should last thousands of miles. I didn't have a receipt or anything, just my old races and a story. I'm sure I paid a little more for the bearing kit initially, but I don't know if Amazon or something would've given me this level or treatment. I will continue to use this store. I think their other locations are Annapolis and Kent Island.

I’m thinking hard about it. I’m probably going to buy a boroscope and check it myself too just to be extra thorough. I don’t care so much about exterior frame weld crust. I care more about what I can’t see on the inside that they can’t get their rattle can paint to.

Thats a great question lol Nah that was the initial plan I bought the seal and gear oil to fill it and everything but once we started working I really didnt feel like it I just wanted to get the wheel bearings done and get it back together. I wasnt planning on replacing any brake components but the rotors were stuck on the hubs pretty good; I broke a bolt inside the little threaded hole on the rotor so had to hammer the shit out of it from the back till they finally popped off. Ran out to autozone to get some new ones, I got their Duralast Golds. If I had planned on replacing them I would have ordered some upgraded ones but whatever, they work for now. I don't think theyre any better or worse thatn the original OEM ones, brakes feel the same. I def still plan to upgrade in the future tho

I stopped going to the MVA and started using a local tag & title service. Their charge is only $35, above the MVA fees. I'm in & out in 10mins and because they have evening hours I don't have to miss time from work.

Bolt on the rotor? Like a Honda? The little bolt that holds the rotor on the hub? I've had to drill out so many of those. Most of my brake jobs have been on Hondas.

Nah theres no bolt or anything that actually hold it onto the hub, just the caliper holds it in place (and apparently rust in my case). The rotor has two threaded holes that you can thread a bolt into if its stuck on there to push the rotor away from the hub. I borrowed my airbox bolt to use and it snapped off inside the rotor lol. If i had known ahead of time I would have bought some grade 8 bolts to use. It was really stuck on there pretty good

You’d have a hard pass on this then, and you’d never get to see how clean the rest of it is. I think you’re beeinh a little too cautious lol
