I have a tri-fold soft cover, but it's LB so that may not help you.

So here is a good question for this group! When do you guys put your winter tires on.. Please dont say when it snows. I live in the northeast part of the state. We get feet of snow!!

 

Usually end of October/ mid November for me. I try to watch the weather temps and try and do it when it start to have steady low temps. 45°F and below.

 

When they start calling for snow, honestly. It'll be sometime in November usually.

 

Mid-November here. I have a pair of studded snow tires and some sand bags standing by, ready to roll.

 

Can't say I've needed snows. Used to use them on my small cars. The truck does fine.

 

They must plow your roads or something. I usually drive past the penndot sheds in the morning about the time those fuckers are getting to work. With sometimes 8-12" on the back roads I run.. I want every bit of help I can get.

 

If it's anything like my area, that would be a no. Makes for an interesting commute. However once you get across the line into MD the roads would be completely clear, just wet. Get it together PennDot! I can only hope the Tacoma does as well as the Liberty that only has a set of all seasons.

 

The ass end is light, I recommend at least 4 sandbags as close to on top of the axle as possible.

 

Thanksgiving to Easter

 

That was my plan. Even in rain I gotta watch it! I've got 300lbs worth from my 2wd S10 days, but if it's bad enough I have some saved vacation days. Not worth the risk.

 

What tires are you running that you're having wet traction problems?

I drive through bald eagle state forest on a barely maintained road to work most days. You don't want mud tires on when it all turns to ice.
