    He let me ride it a number of times and I absolutely loved it. Never thought a hard tail could be as comfortable as it was after riding full suspension.

    Maybe buy a trek marlin and upgrade it? The frame is pretty universal across all of the levels of the bike.

    upgrading a bike is a potential solution as well.

    I haven't done a lot of digging, since I'm not ready to buy, but if I know what I can get a brand new one for with certain components...then I'll really know if I find a deal used or not.

    Suntor has a fork upgrade program that gets you an air fork for under $200 and a 1x drivetrain setup would t be terribly expensive.

    sorry had a meeting, yeah like I said I haven't looked into upgrading piece by piece yet, and am sure that's an option I could go.

    I just like the idea of new with the components I want (29s, 1x, hardtail) and then upgrade the other stuff as I see fit (pedals, handlebars, etc etc)
