Being in a family with my two young sons, who are also car guys, can sometimes spark lively debate.

When my youngest learned that I'm planning to install some add-a-leafs on my PreRunner he called to tell me that I'm going to ruin it and that I should leave the rear slightly lower than the front to be a true PreRunner purist. He says that a real PreRunner has a slight lift on the front and needs the weight distribution shift on the rear for extra traction. I can see where he's coming from on that from the looks of some Baja PreRunners. I haven't planned to run a Baja course. All that I really want is to level out the 1.25" lift that on the front from the new OME 880s.

Am I about to make a huge mistake? :)

No, youre about to make your truck look great. I have that wheelers 1.5" AAL with 880's on my truck, its a great combo with only a half inch or so of rake.

A stock pre runner from the factory had like 1" or more of rake so I think leveling it out would look great. Having the front end higher just looks dumb unless youre going full race truck.

    4 run, 2 don't
Tell him to buy his own truck and do what he wants.

Yours is for you to do whatever you want with.

have never ever EVER even considered something like this
am i making huge mistake leaving as is as was or wot...

truck is most likely coming due at some point for suspension yadayada, its all original but still seems nice and tight and not sloppy
perhaps a PreRunner has different needs (i don't know!)

Thank for the info @Blue92 . IIRC you also installed 3 degree shims from Wheelers? I have these also to install.

Pre runner is toyota marketing to make you feel better about not having a 4wd.
Its just an ad a leaf, tell him it's better than a block. It's a few hour job and you can always remove it.
    Goood luck with the install.

That just what I said in School first grade having no idea what it meant

The important thing for the truck is how it handles who cares how it looks

I think my Hot Pink paint job looks great then I can`t see the pink parts when driving

Ome 883s and add a leaf... It would look rediculous without the aal in the back. DSC00207.jpg
