100% agree with this, KO2s are great. I live in Washington, so I’m constantly running these tires in ice/snow in the winter. They’re great! Don’t know what the hate is all about.

We lived our lives, we make our choices.

My buddy ran k02s as a winter tire.

Of course you’d want to use some common sense and not choose some over-the-top-super-skinny tires.....there’s always a balance, with everything.......
In my experience, the narrower/taller-than-stock snow tires will always go/stop better than OEM sized snows or over-sized mudder/off-road tires in the snow/slush/ice. The tall skinny tires seem to cut down through the snow to the pavement, while the wider/fatter tires try to ride on top of the snow.
Agreed that tread patterns and rubber compounds are really important as well. Research and buy according to the winter weather conditions you’ll most often be driving in....

I just ordered a set of these for my wife’s Jeep to try out this winter. We’ll see how they do.

I've been running the Winterforce tires and they are decent option. Wont break the bank and have held up well for 3 winters(hopefully 4). They are studable, but I run without. Definitely need some weight in the back for the cold snaps, when the temps really drop. They have a soft compound but when the temps get down below -20F, you can notice a difference. This is the biggest factor between all season and winter tires. When the temps drop the all season are just too hard.

My C Load 265/75/16 Duratracs worked so well last winter, I sold off my dedicated winter tires. And trust me when I say, we get wicked snow/ice storms here. Shove it in 4x4 and no problems (Same as when I had my winter tires). Now I don't worry about switching over tires twice a year. They come with the 3 peak snow designation.

Only wish they came in a 255/80/16 or 85/16 tire.

They've been on my trucks for years. I like them for the predictability through the entire tread life. Traction doesn't seem to change like alot of other tyres. That being said I notice my 34 x10.5 do not have the same traction as my 265/75's had. Nor did my buddy. They seemed to break free (same width of tyre but a longer contact patch) a lot easier then my previous ko2's.

Yup a good tyre we buy them regularly for our work trucks we just never got longevity out of them.

Honestly don't think a person can go wrong with a tyre with the 3 peak designation on them. Are there better yup, but they meet the minimum standard and most importantly adjust your driving to the conditions.

Also stay off winter roads with all season (M&s) yes those are classified as all seasons and not winter rated, you can get my&s designated tyres in a lot of tyres that do not have an aggressive pattern. Lots say they get decent traction out of them but they are not winter rated, meaning they do not have the necessary sipping nor compounds to stay soft.

May I ask where you live or are from? Curious as to the road conditions where you are from. Lot and I mean lots of people run them up here in Canada and all over in the winter time.

Are they as good as a Nokian/blizzak hell no.

I run designated winter tires on my Taco and my wife's TJ.

I plow with 235-85/16 K02s on my '85 1 ton 6.2 diesel Sierra and will not plow with designated winter tires anymore; due to wheel speed plowing, the Haka's chunked and shreded knobs.

Yes, the K02 3Peak tires are slightly better than the OEM Wranglers in winter conditions. But, once you run 4 designated winter tires on your vehicle, all other tires suck in the snow, sleet, ice, slush, and rarely do you even go into 4wd to get to work.

Grew up in the seacoast of NH, moved to Flagstaff Az, now I live at 7000' in Salida, Colorado. Every winter I have been driving since 1990, I run four winter tires on many 1980s VW diesels, 1984 Audi quattros, '88 VW Quantum Syncro Wagon, K2500 6.5td Suburban, and the plow truck. Never used 4wd in the 'burb once I got 235-85\16 winters on it. I have driven on wet snow, dry powder, medium packed powder, slush, grey ice, white and black ice, frozen mix, sleet, freezing rain, etc.

Vote falken at3w as well. I snowboard and drive in the snow/ice frequently. No issues in slush or deep snow. Slipped couple times on ice (driving faster than I should), but it caught grip almost immediately after each slip. Love them.
