I was uncomfortable at first myself. Learning to drive and working on cars was a way of life for a teen in the 60's. I have always modded my vehicles myself especially with no bolt on options in the 60's. I own a 2WD Tacoma and there are not many bolt on options for my Tacoma so I fabricated most of the mods myself. This site is a wealth of knowledge and there are quite a few members that really are helpful. Unfortunately there are some members that just like to confront other members. Just like in real life I avoid those people. Life is too short for me to allow those people in my life.

But with no crowds in stores. ;) I may go to a grocery store early Sunday morning but that is about my extent to shopping on the weekend. Well maybe go to a yard sale. LOL I purchased a movie at Best Buy on Thursday and one of the chapters did not play when I watched it on Friday. I waited till yesterday to take it back for exchange. The process took about 5 minutes yesterday.

Yea I’m thinking more of 51 or 52
I honestly never expected to make it this long. ( I still may not )
I know people that worked as hard as I have and saved and invested and went without
just to get ready for retirement and never made it. Everyone else got the fruits of their labors.
So I haven’t “retired for the second time” no pension. No mega bucks. Roflmao.

For the ones that have done it and were lucky to make it and are “lovin retirement “ that’s awesome.

That chapter for me hasn’t been written yet so no idea where the storyline will go.
Maybe if I add fertilizer to my 401k ??? Tee hee...

Weekends usually find me in the garage tinkering with something that isn't broken, but needs a bit of help. Perhaps an old tool acquired along the way.

Never in a store unless I am absolutely in dire need.

Same with golf courses, week days are 3 hr rounds, no waiting on the tee box for anyone and of course so much cheaper.

The key is to be realistic about how much you really need in retirement and work towards that number.
Pay off as much as possible before you retire and of course, watch how much you pay for everything along the way.

I have a friend who retired 7 yrs ago, spent money like he had a year to live, then he started day trading with no financial background of any kind.

No he stays home cause he afford gas to operate his car.

    Save wisely
    Spend wisely.

Everything is mine except for our retirement car.

Best way to be Mike! Everyone (relatives, businesses and scammers) will patronize you when you have money, and quickly forget you when you don’t!

    Morning all:

X2! I figured that out a long time ago, EVERYONE wants your money. SO, if it's that important to everyone else, I try to keep as much of it as I possibly can!

Words of wisdom! From what I have seen, your friend is not the only one.
I had posted this before: a friend of mine went to a retirement seminar and the first question was "how many here have their house paid off", only one hand went up which was his.

I was unexpectedly forced into disability retirement 12 years ago when I was 50.

People need to plan way ahead, because you never know what curve life will throw at you.

I'm debt free...except for taxes, and insurance.

Make sure to get it checked out if is an AT.
My company truck is a '13 and almost killed me last month when it suddenly downshifted from 6th to 1st gear at 60mph on I-95 with no warning.
Transmission output speed sensor is the culprit.
Scared the shit out of me. Big recall.
